Comedian Greg Giraldo — a judge on “Last Comic Standing” and a staple of Comedy Central roasts — overdosed on prescription pills over the weekend. He was reportedly in critical condition, but has been upgraded to stable, according to PopEater.
[Giraldo] was found unresponsive during a party at his hotel in East Brunswick, New Jersey [where he was staying during a four-night stand at the Stress Factory]. “It was like a zoo here,” an eyewitness said of the bash.

Paramedics resuscitated Giraldo and rushed him to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in nearby New Brunswick. Contrary to assorted reports, there is no indication that the overdose was a suicide attempt.
Stupid people LOVE claiming that overdoses are suicide attempts. Yeah, Giraldo tried to end his life at an awesome party. It’s a well-known fact that you shouldn’t leave suicidal people in hotels surrounded by friends and merriment, lest they fall even farther into depression. Brilliant hypothesis, Sherlock. Case closed.
