Following years of catering to old people, the NFL has decided to instead appeal to a younger, dumber audience by naming the Black Eyed Peas the next Super Bowl halftime act. Let’s get a blockquote started in here:
Since forming in 1995, The Black Eyed Peas have sold more than 28 million albums worldwide and nearly 31 million digital tracks. Their new album, “The Beginning,” is set for release Tuesday.

Like most people with taste, I’m repulsed by the Black Eyed Peas’ sound, but I can’t really get worked up about them playing halftime of the Super Bowl. I mean, it’s not like the other finalists for the gig were Arcade Fire and The National. Let’s just be thankful it’s not Bieber.

The last few years had unbearable half time shows. The Black Eye Peas may not be in the same light as the Beatles, Michael Jackson, & the great acts many young people aren’t aware of but this is the SUPERBOWL and we dont need to be hearing Sting, Bob Dylan, or Neil Diamond. What’s needed is music with ELECTRICITY, energy bursting out your speakers! So it’s not about just finding an act that’s safe and considered legendary, it’s also about finding acts that can compliment the over excitement of the game and I have to disagree with your on this one. I think B.E.P are the right choice.
