This past Sunday's episode of "Boardwalk Empire" ("The Emerald City") may have been the most badass episode of an already badass show. Granted, the conflicted emotions of Margaret Schroder (Kelly MacDonald) were displayed with a heavy hand, but I don't have time to waste bitching about meaningless trivialities like "plot" and "direction." What "Boardwalk Empire" served up on Sunday was a heaping pile of first-rate OWNAGE with a generous side of gratuitous and graphic sex.
What follows is a series of still images and animated GIFs from "The Emerald City." Be advised that several of these are absolutely NOT safe for work due to violence and explicit sexual situations. WOO-HOO!

The episode started with a young child screaming at the grotesque disfigurement of Richard Harrow (Jack Huston). Sweet.

Chalky White realizes he's speaking to the man who lynched his associate: "How did you know I drive a Packard?"
(Duh, there are only, like, two kinds of cars in the 1920s. It was a lucky guess.)

This is only part of the awesomely savage beating delivered to the bohemian photographer.

D’Alessio: Oh f*ckin’ tough guy. You gonna shoot me for mouthin’ off?
Jimmy: I wasn’t going to, but you kinda talked me into it.

"Knock knock."
"Who's there?"
"Dangerously unstable federal agent."

Ladies, a bit of advice: be careful whom you choose to sleep with. A repressed religious sociopath with scars from repentant self-flagellation may not be the wisest choice for your next sex partner.

...and the sex ends with the man crying in the fetal position. What, is that out of the ordinary? Oh.

hahahahahaaha – now my coworkers are asking why im laughing.
“Knock knock.”
“Who’s there?”
“Dangerously unstable federal agent.”
I’ll be watching this tonight before the SoA season finale. I’m calling tonight “Bad Ass TV Tuesday”
Ah, the 1920′s. A simpler time. Guns…. corruption… women with bush…..
@IPHAPH, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad.
Dangerously unstable federal agent who?
What about the choking?!?!
@UU: rejoice, my friend, because there’s one more week of SoA after tonight (season finale is next week). And when you say 2 out of 3 ain’t bad, I assume your issue is with corruption…
How is it possible to ever stop thinking about this show? It literally has everything I love – tall lustful women, clever phrases uttered before execution, illegal substance abuse, men in well fitted suits, clandestine lesbianism, Scottish women who read L. Frank Baum aloud to cherubic children & a beautiful half faced man. I didn’t even know the last thing was something I love, but I do! I haven’t enjoyed a story that takes place during Prohibition this much since Annie!
These were some of the best .gifs yet! The show is epic… loved the Jimmy “you talked me into it” Chalky and Nelson’s “Raaaaaa” Great stuff!
The captions were tremendous…
This had me LOLing (Duh, there are only, like, two kinds of cars in the 1920s. It was a lucky guess.)
Best line of the show was “I wasn’t going to, but you kinda talked me into it.” I literally LOL’d when he shot that guy.
