Coming to SNL: DeNiro, Rudd, Bridges

Following last week’s Scarlett Johansson’s episode, Anne Hathaway will host this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” (watch her promos here), but in December the show will return to the standard of a white male lead, with Robert DeNiro, Paul Rudd, and Jeff Bridges set to host.

First up on Dec. 4: host Robert De Niro and musical guest Diddy-Dirty Money (made up of Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kalenna Harper and Dawn Richard).

On Dec. 11: host Paul Rudd and musical guest Paul McCartney.

On Dec. 18: host Jeff Bridges and musical guest Eminem. [Orlando Sentinel]

I could give a crap about DeNiro, since the guy in who was in Raging Bull and The Godfather: Part II was killed and replaced with a doppelganger who does Frank Caliendo’s DeNiro impression in the Focker movies.

But man oh man, Paul Rudd and Jeff Bridges? I’m not sure who I’m more excited about: the single most likable comic actor in Hollywood, or the Dude. Because Paul Rudd has a way of making simple phrases much funnier than they are (“Slappin’ da bass”; “Nude Tayne“), but the Dude, well… The Dude abides.
