A radio morning show noticed that Usher’s immensely annoying but nonetheless catchy “OMG” bears an uncanny resemblance to a song sung by Homer Simpson in a 2003 episode (the 14th season of “The Simpsons”). When I heard this news, I thought, “Whoa, I can hardly believe that someone was watching ‘The Simpsons’ after Season 12.” Anyway, from the YouTube description:
The Y101 Morning Showgram noticed that Usher’s song OMG sounds exactly like the Christmas carol Homer tries to write at the beginning of the Simpsons episode “Dude, Where’s My Ranch?”
Before you all get your torches and burn Usher at the stake for plagiarism, please note that “OMG” was actually written and produced by Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. Actually, on second thought, go ahead and burn Usher at the stake, THEN realize that Will.i.am’s the culprit and burn him too. And throw Seth MacFarlane onto the flames while you’re at it. Call it due diligence for “Family Guy.”

We should have been suspicious after the Black Eyed Peas’ latest single, “Dental plan, Lisa needs braces”
@Bobby Big Wheel — or their collaboration with Linda Ronstadt, “Boom Boom Plow”.
@Kid Presentable Oh, that’s a +1
Asked if the song was taken from “The Simpsons,” Usher enlisted the help of Lil’ John to say, “Yeah.”
…and then Chris Brown to cry and say he’s sorry.
@ KP – Damn you.
Ironically, the video for “OMG” was directed by Steven Spielbergo.
Seth McFarland doesn’t see what the big deal is. And it reminds him of the time on Barney Miller when blah blah blah blah blah….
Will.i.am
That’s my name
That name again
is Will.i.am
