With the exception of Varsity Blues, James Van Der Beek and his towering, Exeter-like forehead slipped into obscurity following his role as Dawson on “Dawson’s Creek.” Now, the Internet only remembers him for his blubbering bitchface and “I don’t want. Your life.”
All of that has changed with the existence of James Van Der Memes, a single-serving Tumblr blog comprised entirely of animated GIFs of Van Der Beek emoting. It’s fantastic. It shows that he’s able to poke fun at his past while also displaying more range than he ever showed on “Dawson.” And something tells me I’ll be using that “Oh no you dih’n't!” GIF sometime in the very near future. Probably in regard to TLC programming.

UPDATE: Here’s Van Der Beek’s Funny or Die video promoting the website:

Too early to call the Celebrity of the Year for 2011?
the “Oh no you dih’n’t!” GIF is truly majestic
Van Der Beek should crash PaceyCon next year (or was it Paceyfest? Like I really give a darn to look it up)
Pacey-Con:

I still think that his role in “The Rules of Attraction” showed that the guy does have some acting chops.
In America, we have laws. Laws against killing, laws against stealing. And it is just accepted that as a member of American society, you will live by these laws. On the Internet, there is another society which has it’s own laws. GIFs are a way of life.

That link is a shocking and revealing study of Dawson’s downfall
I thought Dawson showed great chops as the voice of the Droid commercials until Optimus Prime replaced him.
I’m pretty sure he is one break away from a NPH style comeback
Back when Dawson’s Creek was huge, nobody I knew cared about Dawson. We were all in love with Pacey.
And, as great as this is, it doesn’t beat Fringe. Pacey still wins!
Also, Pacey-Con was adorable.
Top right looks like he’s trying to get two dongs to blow in his eyes. That’s my move!
I plan on sitting my newborn child down in front of a screen showing all Van Der Memes for at least 9 hours per day and I imagine he will grow up well adjusted, handsome and mildly successful.
