As you may know, Dick Wolf (best name in show business after
“The only thing these men and women love more than seeking justice… is wearing scarves.”
FANTASTIC. I’ll keep this in mind the next time some pretentious anglophile expresses disgust that their favorite British show got an American remake. “Oh yeah? Well, the limeys ruined ‘Law & Order’ with scarves!”
(Side note: Since mocking British people in the most juvenile way possible is arguably my favorite form of humor, I have to add that Conan O’Brien’s interview of Ricky Gervais last night was one of the funniest things I’ve seen all week. I’ll add video here as soon as it becomes available online.)
UPDATE: Here’s the Conan-Gervais interview, as promised. The relevant conversation begins at 2:44, with Conan’s insulting British accent kicking in at 4:10. It’s awesome. I think Gervais is genuinely bothered by it.

and do a goddamn mailbag…
Needs more fat Lee Adama.
Not because Jamie Bamber isn’t attractive, but because Lee was so damn emo. And fat emo kids are always funny.
The British have done first class police procedurals for years but this turns out, uh, feminized? Wallander is harder than this and I half expect him to start masturbating in his car.
Flat = Apartment
Assuming the commutative property applies to language, I guess this means Keira Knightley would be a studio…
… you know, a little “apartment.”
Thanks, I’ll be here all weekend. Please, try the veal.

Knackers is actually bollocks, or testicles. Not pants. Other than that this made me laugh a lot.
Great interview. The “Dick Van Fucking Dyke” comment was perfect.
@Liam – Did they mean knackers or knickers? Pants over here are knickers, knackers is bollocks so maybe there was a mistake with the Queen’s English.
/Puts on jodhpurs and prepares to dance
@smegga – Knackers would make more sense in the context of cutting them off, spraypainting them gold and using them as baubles.
Are you avin’ a laff? Ee’s avin’ a laff.
that was AWESOME!
knackers = pants. you said it.
When has knackers ever meant pants? That makes no sense in any context.
