Earlier this week, Starz and FX both passed on picking up “The Kennedys,” the eight-part miniseries that History dropped from its schedule because it “wasn’t the right fit.” (*cough* POLITICAL PRESSURE *cough cough*)
Not to be outdone, Showtime has also passed on the series:
Showtime was considered The Kennedy‘s best shot for an airing on a traditional network in the U.S. because of 24 co-creator [Joel] Surnow’s long-standing relationship with Showtime’s new programming chief David Nevins.
Reached for comment, the CEO of History Channel said, “Anyone? Anyone? C’mon, you can have it for ten bucks. Okay, five. Did I mention it has Katie Holmes?” And all the other programming executives cleared their throats and tried not to make eye contact.

Say chow-dah!
Replace Katie with Anne Hathaway’s impression of Katie and you got yerself a goddamned deal.
Joel Surnow created “The ½ Hour News Hour” and is a known right-wing nutjob. I bet this miniseries has such a heavy bias, that it no longer even resembles actual history. Long story short, it probably sucks, and that’s why no one wants it.
Surnow’s behind this? Oof, no wonder.
I bet it was the scene of JFK sucking off his gay lover Khrushchev that worried the studios.
I’m just shocked that anyone still gives a shit about the Kennedys.
The boomers rule our world, UU. Always.
Back, and to the left. Back, and to the left.
So you’re saying this is a liberal Hollywood conspiracy?
