Golden Globes (NBC, Sunday) — Ricky Gervais has promised to go further in his jokes about celebrities than he did last year, and he’s admitted that he has Charlie Sheen in his sights. God, I can’t wait. I wish there was a way to combine the drunken coolness of the Golden Globes with the respectability and glamor of the Oscars. Because right now the two awards shows deliver either a complete farce of nominees or Hollywood acting imperiously self-important.
Saturday Night Live (NBC) — Gwyneth Paltrow hosts with musical guest Cee-Lo. As always, hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
Miss America Pageant (ABC) — Whoa, this is still on network television! Crazy. Did you know that Miss Delaware Kayla Martell is completely bald due to alopecia? She must save so much money not having to wax.
Big Love (HBO, Sunday) — Season premiere. Not exactly the best choice to put it up against the Golden Globes, but HBO seems less enthusiastic about promoting this ever since last season was widely panned.
NFL Playoffs (NBC/CBS/Fox) — The NFC is an afterthought this weekend, with the big stories being a pair of Round 3′s for division rivals: Ravens at Steelers (Saturday) and Jets at Patriots (Sunday). Follow the action all weekend long at KSK. Also: go Seahawks.

I assume that Kevin Garnett hates Miss Delaware.
Miss delaware? She’s an alpaca!

I hope none of the other contestants steal her dress eyebrows before the pageant.

Why can’t SNL have good hosts and good musical guests at the same time? It seems like it’s usually one or the other.
Maybe I’m forgetting something, but the last time I liked both was the Ryan Reynolds/Lady Gaga show from last season.
@Patty Boots – Is Lady Gaga actually good? I can’t make any judgements on her/his musical talent, but friends tell me she/he is horrific to listen to.
Boots: I dug ScarJo and Arcade Fire this season, and Emma Stone with Kings of Leon was all right. If those didn’t do it for you, you’d have to go with Betty White and Jay-Z, the second-to-last episode last season.
In a guilty pleasure way, yeah. Her music is cheesy fun and I like her commitment to full-on artsy fartsy craziness.
And I suspect she’s a more talented musician than her music lets on.
Judge me. I don’t care.
Aw, Matt, you’re right. I take it back.
I think I forgot about Arcade Fire because, while they’re generally good, that second performance made me want to punch a hipster.
After that stupid ass Glee episode, 5 bucks says that Paltrow tries to join in with Cee-Lo when he sings F* You.
Watching the Seahawks lose with a Seattle fan will be fantastic.
/Scared shitless of another Cutlerpickocalypse and the Lovie/Tampa-2 bending to the point of 500 yds total offense for Seattle. T
Green Bay and Over
Go Bears
Also, The Fighter will win the Globes Best Picture and The Oscar Best Picture.
I thought Ricky Gervais was hilarious, last night. Although I have to say I am dissapointied in the winners last night. Glee won for best comedy series, seriously? It feels like I am one of the few people in the world ho HATES Glee. And while Jim Parsons probably deserved his award for best actor, I really wanted Steve Carell to win since this is his last season.
