As expected, FX has renewed “Justified” and “Archer” in advance of the network’s spring upfront presentation. If you’re a regular reader of this site, then you know that these are two of my favorite shows on all of television, so of course I’m celebrating by drinking in the afternoon. I mean, I always drink in the afternoon, but the difference today is that I’m celebrating something besides the end of being sober.
The renewal makes plenty of sense for the cable network. After all, Justified — starring Timothy Olyphant — has enjoyed burgeoning ratings, which have ticked up 8 percent during season 2, while Archer was up 22 percent from last season. [EW]
This is a great day, people. We’ve just been given another year of Timothy Olyphant’s shoulders, Natalie Zea in high-waisted skirts, and the finest cancer jokes and “Magnum P.I” references on television. Go ahead, crack open a beer and drink up. You can tell your boss I said it was cool.

As much as I loved Terriers, I wish I would have hitched my wagon to a show with staying power.

Nice to hear TV execs making good decisions for once. The other day, I realized that Raylan’s soft-spoken colleague Tim Gunderson (Jacob Pitts) was the long-haired David Spade-esque character on Euro Trip. Mind=blown.
