I’m wrapping things up a little early to leave for a long weekend in the Caribbean. As usual, I won’t say exactly where, but here’s a hint: it has the highest flag-to-native ratio in the world. Your guest blogger for Monday will be the incomparable Mike Tunison; I’ll be back to the grind on Tuesday. (GIF via)
Big Love (HBO, Sunday) — Series finale. From what I’ve heard, the final season has been much better than the disappointing fourth year, possibly because Bill Henrickson’s (Bill Paxton) political career is getting derailed by statutory rape charges. Unless statutory rape charges help the citizens of Utah identify with him.
Super Nanny (ABC, Friday) — Series finale. Oh no, parents might actually have to raise their own children now.
Ax Men (History, Sunday) — Season finale. Not to be confused with “AXE Men,” which is about date rape. Man, this is a really rape-y Weekend Preview.
Detroit 1-8-7 (ABC, Sunday) — Season finale. And probably the series finale, too. Matt Millen thinks this show deserves another seven seasons.
Charlie Sheen: On the Brink (TLC, Sunday) –On the brink of WINNING!
The Pee-Wee Herman Show on Broadway (HBO, Saturday) — I sometimes think I’m the only person from my peer group who never found Pee-Wee Herman funny. At nine years old, I was like, “Dude, grow UP.”

I like to imagine that as a gif of Kid n Play doing that with their feet. What could have been!
Tunison? If hes posts arent written in the style of Laserface, Im not coming back until Tuesday either.
It’s going to take me until Tuesday to process you not liking Pee Wee.
Pee Wee’s even creepier now that he’s like 60. Horrifying.
Pee-Wee Herman, like “Freaks and Geeks,” isn’t entirely about being funny, but instead doing something new and interesting and occasionally insightful. That said, he gets on my nerves sometimes, too.
Matt Millen thinks this show deserves another seven seasons.
He added, “Everyone knows you take the best actor available, regardless of need,” then recommended they cast Meryl Streep & Glenn Close as one of the detective’s teenage sons.
Yeeeeep, looks like I’ll be watching basketball all weekend.
And Fringe. Because I haven’t mentioned it in a while and I will be completely inconsolable if they don’t renew it.
Hey Patty, what do you think of Peter and Olivia getting together? Did they do it because they think the show will be cancelled and wanted to appease the fans, or did they have it all planned?
In my opinion it won’t help the show. I liked the chemistry between them when they were not dating.
I will be watching Chelsea against Manchester City on Sunday, but that’s all.
11:30pm on Comedy Central – an hour long tribute to Greg Giraldo.
Smegga, Chelsea Handler is fucking all the guys in Manchester? Yeah, that sounds about right.
Taco, it is actually Chelsea Clinton. Now freed from the shackles of marriage, she will take on the chavs of Manchester.

Smegga, I don’t mind it. I mean, you saw it coming from the very first episode, because that always happens on TV shows. I do think it’s an attempt to appease fans to some extent, but at least it’s relevant to the overall plot. It would’ve happened whether they were in danger of cancellation or not.
I don’t want to say anything spoilery, so I’ll just leave it at that!
“you saw it coming” no pun intended. I’m glad I have a bunch of stuff DVR’d (including two epi’s of Fringe). I’m not big on some of the writing and plot twists, but like the cast and I’m mesmerized by Torv. In fact during one episode I bought a Buick without realizing it….
@Smegga; on Justified when did momma kill pappy?
When I first heard that there was going to be some finger banging between those two I almost thought the show had taken a really odd and bad turn. What a relief, it was just torture.
@Patty – Matt always says if you come on here, don’t complain about spoilers. If the latest episode has been shown, it’s not a spoiler. Unless you’ve read the scripts for unshown episodes. Anyway, I think they could have extended it a bit. I know they were going to put the pair together, but it seemed a bit abrupt.
@Moose – Erm…catch me up. Did I say something about that on Justified?
Smegga, sorry, you gave me a great Justified run down of the previous season to catch me up to current times (thanks again). The episode previous to the last one with the bank incident (stop reading if you didn’t watch it yet);

Ma Bennett punishes the one Bennett boy (FX network’s website SUCKS!) by taking a nice hammer (from the tool shed) to his non-shootin’ hand (yeah, I’d get scolded, sometimes spanked, so she has a bit different attitude for learning lessons from my mom). This was punishment for cashing Pa Bennett’s gov’ment checks and Raylan finds out. It showed in one of the five minute teasers a glimpse of them poisoning old Pa and planting him near the petunias. I was just wondering if you remember that.
Got you Moose. That wasn’t Pa Bennett, that was the father of the little girl that Raylan saved from the paedophile in episode one of this season.
The father called a tipline anonymously about sex offenders regarding an incident when he tried to assault his daughter, not realising that he worked for the Bennetts. As Raylan gets involved after the girl gets kidnapped by the paedophile, the Bennett family gets nervous about federal investigation.
Anyway, Ma Bennett finds out that the father has not been looking after his daughter too well, and combined with the trouble that Raylan brings, she decides to poison him using her moonshine. The Bennett boys then dump the father.
The episode with the hammer came about because the Bennett boys were cashing in welfare checks belonging to the girl’s father, and although the girl believes he is in Florida, Raylan knows he’s dead.
We haven’t heard of Pa Bennett I don’t think. That help? Sorry if I have repeated stuff you already know.
@Smegga; you should take over writing for the FX website and get paid large dollars (quantity). Back in the day I used to go to the 24 website and they’d let you know when Kiefer scratched his balls… in his trailer; this site isn’t big on details.
That REALLY clears a few things up, I was confusing two characters. I appreciate your time and effort, it makes the show even more enjoyable.
I’ve had homemade moonshine before and I’m not sure you’d really need to add poison.
“it has the highest flag-to-native ratio in the world.”
Easiest hint ever, have fun in Puerto Rico.
