Last month, men who rely on comic books to masturbate got upset when Adrianne Palicki debuted a new Wonder Woman costume that had blue boots and shiny blue pants instead of the red boots and star-spangled booty shorts of their Lynda Carter fantasies. Soon after, Palicki was photographed on set with red boots and blue trousers with stars, which many believed to be a knee-jerk response to the geeky outcry.
Actually, according to NBC president Robert Greenblatt, there’s a third version of the Wonder Woman costume for the new series, which makes sense, considering that she is, after all, Wonder Woman.
“There was an initial outcry about the long pants – you know, skintight pants as opposed to those little shorts,” Greenblatt concedes to TVLine.com. “But the shorts were always planned. They are actually used in the final confrontation when she beats Veronica Cale (played by Elizabeth Hurley).”
Whoa, hey! How about a spoiler alert, Greenblatt? How was I supposed to know that Wonder Woman would be victorious in the series’ first episode?
“We haven’t made any changes from what was planned,” the NBC boss reiterates. “But it’s always good to hear the feedback. I’d rather have people really passionately engaged in conversation, even if they hate something, than be kind of bored.”
I like the idea of Wonder Woman — or any superhero, really — having variations on their costumes. Sports teams have different jerseys for home and away and Sunday games and whatever, so why not change it up from time to time? In fact, I hope NBC gives Wonder Woman a different sexy costume every week. Then they can rename the show “Alias” and it might suck less.

Unless one of her costumes incorporates thigh high stockings and a thong I won’t be happy.
Panties to the side!
Wonder Woman Will Have At Least Three Costumes
Head of NBC (paraphrased): SUPERHEROINES BE SHOPPIN
She’ll probably have a whole closet full of mix-and-match variations of her uniform. Which is kind of brilliant, actually.
*owns the same cardigan in 7 different colors*
But what will she wear while she’s with friends, or shopping?
/Hopes answer is nothing.
Why is that I feel she is hotter as Tyra and not WonderWoman?
Shouldn’t the nerd inside me be excited about this.
Turns to ask nerd inside him*
Nerd shrugs shoulders*
In this picture she actually looks like an acceptable Wonder Woman. At 5’11″ she’ll be close to the right height too(assisted by boots). WW stands nose to nose with the 6’4″ Supes with her boots on.
This is good because I liked Ally McBeal. Calista Flockhart plays the whip, right?
Speaking of which, I hope they pay more respect to the character than the Superman film that almost got made by Tim Burton, who basically made fun of comic books as a medium in interviews. Seriously, f$%^ Tim Burton.
/nerd mode off
Also, give Liz Hurley the WW panties too. I’ll let that continuity error slide.
That’s 3 more costumes than I’d like to see on her.
Ah, my beloved Alias! I want Jack Bristow to be my dad. Time to dust off the DVDs.
What percentage have a prominent camel toe? Which was NOT incorporated in the previous version. To be a proper female superhero you must have plenty of toe. For a male superhero you need a costume with TMI.
Could they at least get some attractive shots of her face? So far, every pic just seems to get this ugly distortion – her face can’t be that off, can it? I’ve never seen her before this so I have nothing to compare it to. Here it looks like she’s trying to sneer but not really succeeding.
