I’m probably going to be a horrible parent. I don’t have the patience to deal with crying and temper tantrums, and my only piece of advice for my unborn children is going to be “suck it up.” But I’m still going to look like Ward Cleaver compared to the hatchet job of parenting in the clip from “Good Morning America” embedded below. In the video, you’ll see a woman give her eight-year-old daughter botox injections in her face. The little girl says it hurts, but mommy thinks it’s necessary for her daughter’s beauty pageants; she’s completely unapologetic and feels she’s doing the right thing.
I used to think the worst thing about child beauty pageants was sexualizing young girls, but now we’ve reached a stage beyond prioritizing beauty in children: making them feel they’re too old. Awesome. Who wants to join me in this “U-S-A” chant?

This kid is 8 and heading down a road of self hatred based on what she looks like and encouraged by shallow praise, mostly from strangers. This AND the botox treatments are abusive. However, the thread of criticisms coming from people towards this woman for giving botox to her child are repeatedly in a manner that refers to battery & hatred directed at the mother’s actions to make her daughter accepted in her circle and refer to the mother’s weight as an insult. Basically, according to the comment maker’s values; hurling abuse both physical and psychological is the appropriate response to someone not looking or acting in a manner that they agree with. Would you judge her for straightening the child’s teeth through painful dental procedures and using apparatus to hold the child’s mouth in correct position through out the night? what is wrong with everyone, obviously this is illegal and this woman should be arrested, CPS should be contacted and whoever is giving this woman the Botox should too be arrested. This is more than moral it is completely wrong. It is a medical procedure w/ a prescribed medication to deliver this medication. Not FDA approved I am sure for children. This screams Child Abuse.
