Justified (FX) — Season 2 finale. After a surprisingly deft Season 1, Season 2 raised the bar even higher, with a more carefully plotted narrative arc and terrific performances from Margo Martindale and Jeremy Davies that both compliment and challenge the show’s brightest stars, Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins. Olyphant has assured us that in tonight’s finale, titled “Bloody Harlan,” “Someone’s going to need a Band-Aid.”
Law & Order: SVU (NBC) — John Stamos guest stars as a sleazy, two-timing boyfriend… WHO MAY ALSO BE THE KILLER! (But probably not, that would be too obvious.)
Modern Family (ABC) — It’s a Mother’s Day episode, which I appreciate. Themed episodes like these serve as nice reminders for when I need to buy gifts.
Workaholics (Comedy Central) — Comedy Central just renewed this show for a second season, which is good to hear. It’s been a disappointing year for freshman sitcoms, but “Workaholics” has been a surprising standout.
Happy Endings (ABC) — Speaking of freshman sitcoms, this is another one of the few bright spots. What other new comedies from 2011-12 besides “Bob’s Burgers” deserve a second season? Don’t say “Outsourced.”
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Eva Mendes on Conan; Ellen Pompeo (ugh) on Kimmel; Paul Walker on George Lopez; Brian Williams on Letterman; Kate Hudson (ugh again) and Chris Hemsworth on Leno; Alec Baldwin and Maggie Q on Fallon; and Patton Oswalt and Pauley Perrette of “NCIS” on Ferguson. Carson Daly, if his show existed, would have author Sarah Vowell. Full listings at TV Squad.

How about Traffic Light on fox?
I bet John Stamos will turn out to be a guy who wants to impregnate as many women as possible.
I’m digging ‘Traffic Light’ and ‘Breaking In’. Any show that gives a weekly dose of Christian Slater with his mesmerizing forehead and snarky ‘Kuffs’ disposition needs to stay on the air.
Tip: If you want to make girls on Twitter FURIOUS, just start talking about how you like Winona more than Ava. Holy shit.
I saw part of Go on TV over the weekend. Mr. Olyphant has aged like a fine, fine wine.
@DG:
They’re only mad because you’re absolutely correct. Winona: more annoying and poorly-written (at least this season), but damn if she doesn’t manage to make me forget all that when she hits the screen.
Also, I wanted to do an obligatory “Vowell appears to have garnered an extra consonant” joke here. Play me off the stage, Johnny!
DG: I didn’t even know the Judd’s had a sister named Ava.
Also adding to the Traffic Light love. Now if only it can avoid the FOX vortex of doom (which also would make an amazing stripper villian’s super move).
Winona never wears a bra. ADVANTAGE: Winona.
I really hope that they renew Happy Endings. The Nerf gun plot from last week was adorable.
I even like this show so much that Casey Wilson doesn’t bother me. I don’t love her, but I don’t hate her like I did when she was on SNL. Maybe it’s because she’s supposed to be over the top? Either way, well played, Happy Endings.
Over on the AV Club, in the reviews there, a Justified crewmember in the comments, says that one of the lead actresses, either Winona (Zea) or Ava (Carter) is a bitch and they all hate her. He won’t say who it is, but everyone in the comments hates Natalie Zea, and so they say it’s her
I hope it’s Joelle Carter who is the bitch. She gets less screen time this season, moans to everybody on set, gets dumped in crap storylines as punishment, and hopefully killed off tonight.
Instead, we’ll probably see Winona leave Raylan and run off with Gary again. Just judging from the way the character looked at Raylan’s headstone at the funeral, I’m guessing that’s what happens.
Winona > Ava
nevermind
Another +1 to Traffic Light. Fake Jemaine aka Nelson Franklin is fantastic.
I feel like I should cringe everytime Casey Wilson says “ah-maz-ing” on Happy Endings, but I don’t. It makes me laugh. I like the show a lot and it’s performing better than Off the Map so I hope it lasts.
@smegga:
Glad I’m not the only one trolling the AVC postings to validate my taste in TV shows.
I don’t care about the body count, I still want to taste Mags Bennett’s apple pie.
I prefer cherry pie. WINONA’s cherry pie. Wokka wokka!
Seriously though, fantastic episode, as expected. The best show on tv.
Otto Man YOU BASTARD! That was the worst mental vision I’ve had since your Snooki comment. Thanks a lot! Luckily there is a link picture of a huge breasted woman with a cat below.
I hope her crust tastes terrible.
Winona vs. Ava? Hummmm, the only way I can really decide is if one of them can get her ankles behind her head without injury. That may seem sophomoric, crude, in poor taste, etc., etc. However it is really a demonstration of strength, dedication, flexibility, physical fitness, and a can do attitude, all things that make a young woman attractive.
Wasn’t John Stamos married too….. oh, crap.
Good Lord Jeremy Davies is the shit.
In reading that last comment, I came in assuming it was sarcasm, and by the end was uncertain. All I know is that “National Skirt Day” is something I can certainly get behind [slide whistle].
Most Attractive Person in the Office goes to … Danny Cordray. Unfortunately, he couldn’t be here to accept his award. He’s too busy giving the scum of the world a swift kick in the face.
