Last week, we learned that the previously fit and rakish Rob McElhenney gained fifty pounds to play Mac on the upcoming season of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” for no better reason than he thought it would be funny if his character got fat.
However, we hadn’t seen the results of McElhenney’s gluttonous, sedentary lifestyle until now — and they’re GLORIOUS. As you can see, he’s embracing the change by wearing a Hawaiian shirt, the official uniform of overweight men. Even his beard gained weight. And I can’t tell what he’s holding in his right hand — I studied the full-size photo to no avail — but in my mind, it’s a bottle of barbecue sauce.
(thanks for the tip, @ScottyKnoxville)

At first glance, I thought the bottle was was chocolate milk.
He looks like if you rubbed a piece of paper on his forehead it would turn clear.
He should probably use that bottle to fight off whatever that thing between him and Charlie is. Yikes.
It looks like one of those Muscle Milk bottles.
Please do a Steven Seagal bit…he is looking very Seagal. “It’s not exactly Karate, just something I created” -Seagal on the front kick used by Anderson Silva to knock out an opponent.
So, how are they going to explain this? My money’s on a combination of beer, cheesesteak and Tasty Kakes.
And please, please, please let there be fat Night Man.
@TubDope: You know you want her
Hi, Billy Mays here!
There’s only two kinds of guys who wear Hawaiian shirts: gay guys and big fat party animals.
And Mac looks like a big fat party animal to me.
His forearm still looks surprisingly svelte.
That is a “monster milk” my friends. Thank you and good night
@dachshund Well yeah. But, are you sure it’s a her? I mean, my dog is female, but i don’t think of her as a human lady…
He looks like a young Dom DeLuise. If they remake Cannonball Run,he’s all over it.
It appears that Kaitlin Olson has let herself go as well.
He’s a dead ringer for James Gandolfini in Get Shorty.
Forgot the link.
The Tao of Rob
And that’s why that show is so freaking hilarious. It’s the commitment to comedy. That uncompromising, Bob DeNiro like willingness to eat yourself to death for your craft. I hear they really broke David Hornsby’s legs for his part as Rickety Cricket. Classic. LOL
Episode 1: Mac Gets Fat
Hilarious. Even more so, considering he was working out at the same gym I go to just last year, with a personal trainer, hardcore style…he’s a small dude, so 50 el bees is going a long long way
I’m glad he went jolly fat guy instead of angry/bitter fat guy – which is basically the same outfit, but instead of a Hawaiian shirt, he’d be wearing a bowling shirt and shorts covered in food stains.
Maybe the bottle is BBQ sauce that he is drinking like chocolate milk.
It appears that Rob is going for the “Big Daddy” look. All he needs is a pair of sunglasses, an air boat, and a human skull.
/Simpsons Nerd
Hmm, Big Daddy is close. If he had a little hat, he’d look just like Paul Prudhomme.
Umm…does anyone else find it weird that Charlie Day actually wears that jacket around in real life? I hope they were filming a scene somewhere and were thus, in costume. Otherwise, Charlie, wardrobe is not your personal…wardrobe!
Whatever, I bet he gives good blowjobs.
that’s a galliker’s chocolate milk bottle, popular here in PA with fat guys like myself.
you really need to trust the experts on this, i pop those things down like crazy and am also quite, quite corpulent.
@johnny marsh: False. That’s a Monster Milk bottle; the writing on it is the protein/bcaa/etc facts.

How about citing the girl (in the middle) who posted this on Reddit (where Mr. “@ScottyKnoxville” must have gotten it? It’s her picture.

it is indeed a Monster Milk RTD, 20oz.
I know because I sell them.
It’s a bottle of V8 juice!
@WittyPhrase, Charlie doesn’t really HAVE a wardrobe for the show. He pretty much wears his own clothes. They say so in the commentary for one episode. So…
Just to prove that it is Monster Milk, here is a picture of the side label on the bottle: [farm4.static.flickr.com]
