“The Walking Dead” will shut down traffic in an Atlanta suburb next week, as the AMC drama continues filming its second season.
Police in Cobb County are warning drivers to be on guard for a zombie outbreak as filming of the hit drama series “The Walking Dead” begins there. They plan to post two message boards on a busy thoroughfare.
Police officer Mike Bowman said drivers can expect zombies and simulated gunfire, which could lead to traffic delays next week. The Marietta Daily Journal reports the message boards will be set up on Cobb Galleria Parkway. [AP/Yahoo]
I won’t lie: this isn’t even remotely interesting as TV news stories go. The reason I’m posting this is because I saved the banner image on my laptop over a year ago. I saw it on Tumblr or somewhere, and I thought, “Oh hey, I better keep this in case there’s ever a story about zombies blocking traffic.” Because that’s what normal people do.
(thanks to Dave C. for the tip)

With zombies and gunfire going on, how are the citizens of Atlanta supposed to know there’s a tv show being filmed?
Is it odd that the phrase “simulated gunfire” made me slightly aroused?
That picture is actually a few years old and was take somewhere around south Austin. Does it being Austin hipstery take away from its novelty? Maybe a little..
