Tracy Morgan has made a career of appearing unhinged and saying crazy crap, but his stance on homosexuality has put him in hot water. Morgan, who’s publicly stated his belief that homosexuality is a choice since at least 2009, apparently colored in some offensive details about his opinions during a June 3rd set in Nashville. Kevin Rogers, a self-described gay fan of Morgan’s since his “SNL” days, described the rant:
He said that there is no way a woman could love and have sexual desire for another woman, that’s just a woman pretending because she hates a f*cking man. He took time to visit the bullsh*t of this bullying stuff and informed us that the gays needed to quit being pussies and not be whining about something as insignificant as bullying. He mentioned that gay was something kids learn from the media and programming, and that bullied kids should just bust some ass and beat those other little f*ckers that bully them, not whine about it.
He said if his son that was gay he better come home and talk to him like a man and not [he mimicked a gay, high pitched voice] or he would pull out a knife and stab that little N (one word I refuse to use) to death… Tracy then said he didn’t f*cking care if he pissed off some gays, because if they can take a f*cking dick up their ass… they can take a f*cking joke.
I don’t mean to nit-pick, because Morgan’s rant is clearly a reasoned and thoughtful argument, but I think some people may have had gay sex before the media taught children how to be gay. Can somebody fact-check that?

I’m not arguing it’s a funny joke. Nor am I defending the comments. I’m merely defending a comedian’s right to offend and say things they don’t mean. David Cross, for instance, has not asked his girlfriend to perform three consecutive abortions, but he says he did, because he’s a performer who pushes the envelope. When we censor one comedian, it has a dangerous effect on all comedians.
Well, he’s wrong about gayness being a choice, but he does have a point about this retarded anti-bullying campaign.
Want to stop a bully? Don’t get B-list celebs to make Internet public service announcements. Instead, man up, go toe-to-toe with the bastard, and show him you’re not afraid. That’s been the only way to deal with assholes since the dawn of time.

tracy does a lot of this off-the-cuff, not very well thought out riffing in his stand-up. i saw him once stop and do 5-10 minutes on why we shouldn’t beat women. he made some good points, which no one could argue, but getting back into the rhythm of telling jokes after that was really hard.
he also has very oddly shaped hands.
I dunno. On one hand, it’s not terribly surprising that Tracy Jordan has these beliefs. He was one of those lowest common denominator-type comics before he resurrected his career on 30 Rock, and that style of comedy lends itself to those who prey on the ignorance and fear of the closed-minded (see: Jeff Dunham). It’s pandering of the worst sort and it forms an incubator in which the comedian and audience feel safe and secure in their ignorant beliefs. Having a stand-up comedian come out and confirm that ‘normal’ people feel the way you do is cathartic, and if the audience is laughing, the comedian knows that they’re relating to him or her. It’s just typical stand-up bullshit, and as long as Tracy Jordan has an audience that approves of his message, he’ll keep spouting it off. It won’t matter to anyone except those that believe him and those that oppose him.
On the other hand, I do like Tracy Jordan’s work on 30 Rock and it’s kind of disappointing that he feels that way. Oh well, what can you do?
If you’re against homosexuality, advising gays by using the words “quit” and “pussy” so close together may not be the most effective strategy.

I actually am defending Tracy on this one. Why is it OK to demand an apology from him when clearly this is part of his “act”, be it a joke or not. Why is no one up in arms over Chris Rock or Daniel Tosh’s anti-gay, racist, and sexist jokes? Did this guy go into his show expecting high brow intellectual humor? I mean, it’s Tracy Morgan. Lighten up people.
In all fairness, if one takes a dick up the ass, said person should logically be able to take a joke. But you know what they should also take?

As offensive as these comments are supposedly are, they are his opinion and he is entitled to it. I mean fags expect everyone to accept them prancing around in drag and being as flamboyant as possible, but someone spouting their opinion is too much? Tracy Morgan was wrong about one thing. Clearly just because they can take a dick up their ass, this hand-wringing and gasps of vapours from the gay crowd just proves they can’t take a joke. i was a huge fan of Tracey Morgan starting with SNL and all the way through to 30 rock. They he says stupid shit like this…. Well tracey you have lost a fan (and a fan who spent money on 30 rock dvd’s, snl dvd’s and i bought your book but never again).
