In a themed week that precisely no one asked for, Jimmy Fallon is presiding over Chris Kattan Week at “Late Night,” allowing his former “Saturday Night Live” castmate to be a guest on the show every night this week. “So… remember when you played Mango?” is what Fallon will presumably ask on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Chris Kattan is on the show – and not only tonight…ALL WEEK! That’s right! He’s here all week, every night! [Late Night Blog]
I can only assume that the poor “Late Show” blogger is using exclamation points the same way that I do: to express sarcasm.
I don’t know. Maybe I’m being too mean. It’s possible that I’m cutting down Chris Kattan just because he’s unfunny and getting five times the TV exposure that could reasonably be justified for him. Watch his segment from last night and draw your own conclusions:

What did we do to deserve this?
While I will argue that Kattan is a hack, the one time, the ONE TIME, I laughed uncontrollably at him was when Katie Holmes hosted SNL and they did the Dawson’s Creek/Mr. Peepers sketch and he humps Katie Holmes to revive her from trying to OD.
Chris Kattan is still alive?
John Goodman is dead? All athletes are dead?
What about Don Rickles? He’ll show up for anything.
Since he’s on Fallon all week, am I to understand that production has halted on “Corky Romano 2?”
Chris Kattan’s Mary Lou Retton made me feel funny in my bathing suit area. So I have no opinion or a very strong opinion. I don’t like to think about it.
@Pretzelman
My ex was an extra in that sketch. She got spit on by Mr. Peepers. So there’s that.
Also, anyone who hates Kattan, which I imagine is a lot, should listen to Tracy Morgan reading his book. He get a pretty good dig at him and Cheri Oteri.
jesus christ that was horrible.
Watch his segment from last night…
The hell I will. I don’t understand how this man roams free while heroes (relatively speaking) like O.J. Simpson and Bernie Madoff rot in jail.
I did like that skit where he and Amy Poehler played a redneck couple on COPS. But that probably had more to do with Amy.
I don’t think Fallon is trying to get fired. I DO think he’s trying to be as inane as possible to see what he can get away with. And, I sincerely hope Kattan is in on the joke.
I’m thinking some incriminating photos are probably the inspiration for Chris Kattan week. Or maybe Kattan once gave Fallon the heimlich maneuver and saved his life or something.
It is kind of impressive how Kattan can take a premise that’s not very funny to begin with, and make it absolutely unwatchable.
Everyone knows that Jacob’s Patience is an ongoing gag right? Ferrell, Baldwin and Zach Galifinakis have all done it. Google it.
I consider myself a fan of both high brow and low brow humor and do not much care for Chris Kattan, but I’d be lying through the skin of my teeth if I said that watching this Jacob’s Patience and any of the Jacob’s Patience doesn’t bring me to tears and uncontrollable laughter. Seriously, the physical comedy used in this gag sketch is unparalleled.
Isn’t this the same skit he did with Will Ferrell making sandwiches? Seriously Fallon sucks…

Serious Deja Vu with this one, for some reason. My dreams are coming true…my GOD, I hope not. There was this one about me, Tyrion, a jackass and a honeycomb in a brothel…
Can’t wait until Chris’ latest movie comes out called “Just Crazy Enough”. It looks sooo funny! They just finished filming last week, so how long does it take before it hits the big screen?? Anyone?
Corky romano and the pest. Two movies I hate admitting that I like. Odd filmdrunk ran a story abou Kattan’s movie badge to the bone like a month or two ago. Coincidence?
