That quote’s all you really need to know about this Funny or Die video starring Don Cheadle as Captain Planet (embedded below). Possibly the crappiest superhero ever conceived, Captain Planet was easily one of the worst cartoons of the 1990s, a paper-thin character attempting to broaden children’s respect for the environment by making it look like supervillains took joy in cutting trees down and polluting water. This video starts with that conceit, but Captain Planet soon turns into an angry badass who F’s people up and flies away saying, “Don’t summon me again unless you ready for that pain. Peace, dickholes!” It might be Cheadle’s best exit line since Maurice Miller crushed goldfish in Albert Brooks’s hand and told him, “That’s how you do the shake.”

Not even a mention about Britta in the vid? BUT SHE CRIES AND IT TEARS MY SOUL APART
As a kid I wasn’t allowed to watch TV, so whenever I had the chance I’d watch whatever I could get. I remember this show being the only cartoon available on several occasions and being absolutely furious that there wasn’t anything else. I still watched the whole thing because, hey, it’s forbidden TV!
Seriously- the kid who’s only power was ‘heart’ was such a pussy.
Britta for the FAIL.
Way better than Green Lantern.
He looks more like an oompa-loompa.
NICE. All super hero movies should be like this.
GREEN LANTERN, BITCHES.
Would have been so much better.
It’s so sad that in this day and age, some people still think it’s ok to parade around in Aquaface.
captain planet was epic, probably the greatest super hero of all time
Someone needs to make a gif of him shooting lasers from his dong.
I prefer the Robot Chicken version. But this was good too.
@Uncle Phil: +1
You’re an idiot. Captain Planet was the best. Ever. He had the best powers. Dude could do ANYTHING. Just..anything. If you didn’t like Captain Planet growing up, it’s only because you were too poor to afford TBS.
