Back in 2000, “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone went to the Oscars wearing the same dresses that had previously been worn by Jennifer Lopez and Gwyneth Paltrow to the awards show. Last night on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,”
they revealed how they worked up the nerve to do the stunt: they took acid.
Parker: “We thought of it the week before… We had tuxes as a backup because we thought we were gonna chicken out, and we did. And we were like, ‘Let’s not do that, let’s not do that.’ But then we were like, “Let’s take a little bit of acid.” So we did that and of course an hour later we were like, “WE GOTTA WEAR THE DRESSES.”
Stone: “It made that whole thing just make sense.”
There’s video below, and it’s funny to watch as Parker goes on to say that they were coming down as the ceremony was going on and how they hoped that they didn’t win.
Me? I don’t need drugs to wear a designer gown. Looking beautiful is its own high.

Actually this was common knowledge for years, Matt. I can’t believe you didn’t know this, along with many other things that I know and therefore assume anyone who doesn’t know them is an imbecile. And you call yourself a journalist. FOR SHAME.
On a more serious note, I love these guys and want to have most, if not all, of their babies.
…on an even MORE serious note…..I’ve always wanted to drop a specimen into that juicy belly-button of J-Lo’s…
…ever since I first saw that dress on her….
Parker and Stone are the best.
It’s still a crime that they didn’t win that Oscar. Then they’d be 3/4 of the way to EGOT.
I bought the DVD of Orgazmo at one of the Borders going out of business sales. I heart that movie.
Echoing DG, they made reference to it on Letterman early this year when promoting the 14th season of South Park. I thought it was weird Letterman wanted to show a 10 year old picture of the two guys in drag, but then they kept saying “YA WE WERE ON ACID and we thought it would be cool but then it wasn’t cool at all.”
I heard this somewhere
