New Girl (Fox) — Series premiere. Whoops, I didn’t realize this was debuting tonight, or I would’ve written a pilot review. Given the commenter civil wars that have been waged over Emily versus Zooey Deschanel, I expect the response to Zooey’s new show to similarly divided. But I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed the “New Girl” pilot, and it’s mostly because I’m charmed by Zooey’s comedic performance. Worth watching, says I.
Raising Hope (Fox) – Season premiere. I wrongly ignored how great Martha Plimpton looked at the Emmys the other night. Mindy Kaling described her as having a “New Republic mind and a Maxim bod,” which is both accurate and a very Mindy Kaling sort of thing to say.
Glee (Fox) — Season premiere. Twentysomethings playing high school kids sing and dance.
Body of Proof (ABC) — Season premiere. Dana Delany stars in ABC’s version of a CBS show.
Unforgettable (CBS) — Series premiere. “Without a Trace” star Poppy Montgomery plays a woman with a rare condition that gives her perfect memory of everything, which means she’d be a huge pain in the ass to date. Anyway, it’s on CBS, so of course that means she’s going to help solve crimes.
NCIS & NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS) — Season premiere. Naval personnel who wear civilian clothes and ignore military grooming standards help skew America’s perception of its military.
The Biggest Loser (NBC) — Season premiere. Anna Kournikova joins the show, because… erections help people lose weight?
Workaholics (Comedy Central) — Season premiere. Along with the new season of “Tosh.0″ beginning tonight, this is probably the funniest thing on TV this evening. Watch a preview clip below.

I was actually impressed with how much I enjoyed the New Girl (Comcast has free sneak peaks On Demand, don’t yell at me I didn’t get them through Matt’s blog-connections!).
Zooey’s endearing nerd charm just kills me and there’s a part when she comes out all dolled up for a date and just steals the scene that is the reason I’m recording it tonight to watch again.
However, team Emily fo’ sho’.
I’m fully torqued for the Workaholics premire.
In watching the season finale of Hell’s Kitchen, I learned that Gordon Ramsay cannot throw a ball. Please tell me some of you saw him throw out the opening pitch at a Dogder’s game. It was like watching a little girl throw. I must find a GIF or youtube clip.
I’ve decided to preemptively hate The New Girl. Something about it rubs me the wrong way.
I had no idea who the Emily was in Emily vs. Zooey…they’re related?!
Emily > Zooey.
Don’t forget guys, tonight also has “Sons of Anarchy”.
Workaholics is definitely tight butt hole.
Zooey > Emily. I second the fully torqued response.
Zooey is legitimately adorable, but can we not with “adorkable?”
Also, that billboard looks it was left over from Pushing Daisies. Not that that’s a bad thing.
How can she steal a scene in a show that revolves around her?
Zooey > Emily
I thought New Girl was decent as well. The pilot has been available free on Hulu and iTunes for a month or something now.
Oh and Zooey > Emily
Ever since that completely uninspired performance of “I Put a Spell On You” on Conan and her appearance on Top Chef I feel like the candy isn’t nearly as good as the wrapper is pretty.
Given the commenter civil wars…
Emily shall rise again!!!
I like Martha Plimpton, but never think of her as hot. However, she certainly is all “va-va-voom” in that dress.
GOONIES FOREVER!!
As for the sisters Deschanel, it’s so hard to choose. Zooey is cute & adorable. Emily worked that Wonder Woman costume. I say Emily > Zooey.
Emily is married to Rickety Cricket
Wait a second, I thought we were debating who was hotter between Emily Blunt and Zooey Deschanel. I voted Emily after I found out they were different people, now I’m just confused.
@ Zack: I’ve decided to preemptively hate The New Girl. Something about it rubs me the wrong way.
Wouldn’t you like Zooey to rub you the right way? EH? EH??
/dodges tomato.
Tonight’s episode of SOA is directed by ROBOCOP…Ownage boner activated
NCIS & NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS) — Season premiere. Naval personnel who wear civilian clothes and ignore military grooming standards help skew America’s perception of its military.
NCIS is as military as the FBI. Its just a federal agency who handles crimes revolving around military personnel.
NCIS is as military as the FBI.
Really? Is the FBI an Echelon II military command that reports to the Secretary of the Navy too?
You can read more about how NCIS totally isn’t part of the Navy or the military at their website: http://www.ncis.navy.mil
Anyone else disappointed by Workaholics tonight?
Er, last night rather.
I only chuckled twice during The New Girl and both times it was at the Wayans kid. Zooey’s quirkiness isn’t just over the top, it’s overbearing. Plus the guy who has to pay the douche jar (while admittedly it’s a clever bit) is just awful and totally unbelievable.
2 Broke Girls was far better.
@Matt – Thanks for posting Martha’s picture, she really looked amazing on Sunday.
@Taco – I thought the same thing. Her quirkiness wore on me, but the Wayans kid cracked me. Although, it’s almost creepy how much he looks & acts like his father. Also, why is their bathroom like a lockerroom?
I’m with Taco. It just seemed like the whole show was over the top “Quirky.” Its like “Scrubs 2.0″
And Workaholics was a definite let-down. Here’s hoping that was just a horrible, horrible fluke.
“Body of Proof (ABC) — Season premiere. Dana Delany stars in ABC’s version of a CBS show.”
- Thats pretty fuckin’ funny homey
