UPDATE: Now with video!
The series premiere of "Ringer" aired last night, and although it garnered decent ratings for the CW's standards, it was obvious to anyone who watched it that this was a show developed for CBS consigned to little sister CW with the hopes that "Buffy" star Sarah Michelle Gellar would be enough to counter the show's shoddy craftsmanship.
There are holes at every level in "Ringer" -- from writing to directing to acting to probably even the on-set catering -- but none so glaring as the lackluster effort put into the green screen effect in the scene where Siobhan and Bridget (twins played by Gellar) venture out to sea in Siobhan's boat. It looks like they used the special effects technicians from "Gilligan's Island."
On the next few pages, I have more screen caps of "Ringer's" terrible use of green screen. See if you can tell which ones I've edited in Photoshop!

I want to marry this post right in its face.
I watched this show with Mrs. Palehose last night and started laughing audibly when this scene occurred.
That said, I thought the last 20 minutes of the show was decent (even though the acting was pretty poor.)
This show would work better as a one-season arc a la “24″ or a mini-series, though.
I’m not sure, but I think #10 and #12 are shopped, but otherwise they look like they came from the show. I didn’t watch, but does the corgi also have a separated-at-birth twin??
It looks like they used the special effects technicians from “Gilligan’s Island.”
That is an insult to the special effects technicians from “Gilligan’s Island.”
#5 would look legit if we lived on a planet with three suns.
It looks like they used the special effects technicians from “Gilligan’s Island.”
On the plus side, robot basketball team.
I feel like this could be the start of the new opening credits of the Naked Gun movies.
Number four is exactly like the dream I had last night. Then again, so is number eleven. Yes, I need help. I’m aware of this.
Even the cinematography sucks. Those shots are so plainly framed. Is this show a throwback to 60′s sitcoms?
Also, I can’t even tell what’s happening in these pictures. The boat looks like it’s 10 feet tall.

Dammit, I thought the Empire disabled the hyperdrive.
Wait, I thought there was a green screen in these images. Most of them don’t appear to have anything green at all.
I didn’t see Johnny Knoxville in any of those pictures? I remember him having more screentime in that movie.
Look, we can bitch about how bad this show is but I see a boat and SMG. The potential for lingering bikini shots from my favorite Jewish valley girl is very, very high.
…get rid of he “twins” contrivance…..
…and just go with “reality”….

I wasn’t getting the full green-screen from the stills so the video definitely has me wanting to watch the show now. I might even need a drinking game to track continuity errors.
Wow, I thought the green screen was bad, and then I watched the acting…
Sarah Michelle Geller swims like retarded kids give hugs.
I dont see whats wrong witrh it
