I don’t know why, but I absolutely love Halloween episodes. I’m not even that big of a Halloween person — I still don’t have my costume yet. But there’s something about a TV show using its budget on awesome costumes and telling a Halloween story that will inevitably be more interesting and funny than my own Halloween (I’m going as Bill Lumbergh
this year, mostly so I can drink whiskey from a mug all night).
ANYWAY. “Happy Endings” awesomely put its Halloween episode online two days early — WITH NO COMMERCIALS! It’s a great episode, and I’ve embedded it below. Max is hilarious in a baby costume (I guarantee you’ll laugh at the baby arms), Elisha Cuthbert dresses as a sexy Marilyn Monroe, and Damon Wayans Jr and the other blonde chick carry a strong B-story in the suburbs. (Cuthbert, in particular, should be getting some credit for her work as Alex this season. I thought her character was a little weak in Season 1, but she’s displayed some great comedic chops in the last couple of episodes.)
ALSO INCLUDED: a sneak peek at this week’s “Community.” Britta discovers that someone in the study group has homicidal tendencies. Man, I’m way more excited about this week than I have any right to be. It may have something to do with women who are professionally good-looking wearing sexy costumes.

Aw, I wish I wasn’t at work, so I could watch this right now.
And Alex has improved a lot this season. Even if I do feel bad for her poor diabetic snake.
Eliza Coupe doesn’t get enough credit for her awesomeness. She was great on the last 2 seasons of Scrubs (even though those seasons mostly sucked, especially the last one) and no one seems to recognize her from the episode of Community where she was the Secret Service agent in love with Abed.
Also, she pretty.
why wasnt allison brie in the video you posted?
I’d wondered where Elisha Cuthbert went. Good to know she’s still getting roles.
Good for Elisha. I HATED Kim Bauer, but have such a soft spot for The Girl Next Door (YAY Olyphant) that I couldn’t quite bring myself to despise Ms. Cuthbert because of it.
Baby arms are my kryptonite.
Really good gallery of pics from upcoming Halloween episodes over at HitFix: [t.co]
Whitney dressed as a
sexynurse from jump street and you cruel bastards kicked her to death.*sniff
Homicidal Tendencies? I liked that song they did about wanting a Pepsi.
That was an epic “Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.” And a damn funny 21 minutes overall. Happy Endings is really impressing me in the few episodes I’ve seen.
@Jeff
I highly recommend picture 8 on that particular slide show

I’ve looked at that gallery enough that without even clicking on that link I know it’s Allison Brie and Gillian Jacobs in sexy lingerie.
I live a sad life.
Tiny hats on bald men is comedic gold, like in Oz.
Cuthbert was really weak in season one, but now that they’ve embraced that her character is a bit of an airhead, she’s really improved. She makes lots of jokes that fail, the others ignore her, then she lands one with her squeaky voice and I bust out laughing.
“You and your board should get a room. A board room. YES!”
@Smegga also from that episode: when she came downstairs complaining that she was trying to take a nap, for some reason it cracked me up and was so fucking random.
Also, I’ve wanted to sleep with her since Girl Next Door. Holy shit is she hot in that.
@Smegga @MitchKayak “Maybe you should force yourself on a girl… I’m not good at this game…”
@MitchKayak – It was “Guys! Some people are trying to take naps here!” There was nobody else there, just Alex upstairs and Penny and Jane downstairs, but the fact that Alex referenced herself as one of many sleeping during the day made me laugh.
I think the new Alex started with the episode with the guy Penny was dating named Hitler. She started firing off all these jokes, most of them totally missing, but then she went “Better not let him get in your Panzer. BOOM!” Just brilliant.
Eliza Coupe is funny and hot. She was also really good in Flight of the Conchords as the “A Kiss is not a Contract” and “Foux de Fafa” girl. And I’m in love with her.
@MitchKayak: Yeah, that cracked me up too.
@clueheywood: She is indeed excellent.
