The Big Bang Theory (CBS) — “Star Trek: The Next Generation” actors Wil Wheaton and Brent Spiner guest star. What happened to Spiner? He looks like the senator dude from the X-Men movies after he gets all water-logged.
Community/Parks and Rec (NBC) — Alan Sepinwall claims that tonight’s episode of “Community” is one of the best the show has ever made, while “P&R” showrunner Michael Schur tweeted that tonight’s 50th episode of the series is one of his personal favorites (watch a clip below). So of course my monthly co-op shift starts at 8:00. Dammit, why did I have to become a yuppie?!?
The Secret Circle (CW) — This is a show.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FX) — Frank’s brother Gino (played by character actor Jon Polito) shows up to reveal some family secrets. Danny DeVito’s dyed-black skullet might be the funniest and most horrifying thing on TV this fall.
Baseball Playoffs (Fox/TBS) — Rangers at Tigers on Fox (already underway) and Brewers at Cardinals on TBS. Tony LaRussa is the most overrated manager in baseball history.
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Bill O’Reailly on Letterman; Zachary Levi and GLORIA ESTEFAN on Leno; John Goodman on Kimmel; Kathy Bates on Ferguson; Cedric the Entertainer and Julianne Hough on Fallon; Gloria Steinem on Chelsea; and Sarah Michelle Gellar and the Dropkick Murphys on Conan. (P.S. Sorry about the spotty posting today; the KSK mailbag and some Uproxx work took up more time than I anticipated.)

Spiner and Wheaton!! Let me make sure my DVR doesn’t accidentally record that. Can’t believe there are 50 episodes of Community. Almost makes me want to get a dibilating injury so I can watch them back to back to back…
Two random questions-
Anyone else having trouble getting their avatar to show up? I set it up this morning but so far no-show.
Is it me or do the “best of the web” features have like a 1% success rate in getting past anyone else’s work internet filter. I know they’re going to get blocked- but I keep on clicking them. Christina Hendricks in a low cut Burka will do that I guess.
Does Christina Hendricks even own a shirt that isn’t low cut? I love that she likes to give the puppies air but I mean…shit.
@Chazz – I can see Lando. And, I can’t open even 1% of the “best of the web” stuff. A lot of the Uproxx stuff gets blocked by my company’s filter. I think it’s the placement of the exes in the URL since I also can’t open Netflix or anything related to X-Men.
Hard to believe “The Big Bang Theory” can’t afford Shatner, Nimoy and Nichols…….
@Matt,
You can have my apology if you can answer me these questions three. Question the first -
/watches Matt walk away
Nobody record or watch “The Big Bang Theory”! That show and it’s laugh track needs to die a painful death. I can’t explain how pissed off that show makes me.
By the way, is that fat kid with the afro in the background of the screengrab the same one who shows up on “Chuck” and “Community”?
As for “Community”, I’m really excited from all the good publicity this episode is getting. Troy and Abed have a party, except at night, not in the morning!
@Smegga – that kid does look at awful lot like one of the employees of Buy More. I find your observational skills a little freaky.
Cursor, I’ve never seen anyone complain about too much cleavage on the internet before.
Tony LaRussa is overrated? Think of all the puppies he saves.
On a side note, if you go to IMDB and type in “The Big” the fucking Big Bang Theory pops up ahead of The Big Lebowski. What the travesty with them man?
PUT ON THE REEEED LIIGGGHHTT!
Holy shit that was maybe my favorite Community ever. Also, what does monthly co-op shift mean?
Sincerely,
Drunk guy with impeccable taste, but lives in Georgia
Whitney > Zooey. Or whoever.
Defeating trolls requires an at least +1 weapon and fire. Just sayin’.
Yes! That was a fantastic episode of Community. I was really worried after the first 2 episodes of the season were major duds (to me), but the last 2 have been great. Tonight’s was so GD(B) funny.
Plus Alison Brie and Gillian Jacobs are super hot, as always.
Seven, that WAS the best Community episode, and one of the best Parks and Rec too! Laughed my ass off for one hour. Thanks TV.
@Aeyos Cot, that is the worst thing I’ve ever read on Warming Glow. Whitney has a ‘live studio audience’ which is the same as a laugh track while Zooey is cute and adorable.
@Chazz
You could always fall into a giant pit…
Whitney is bizarre, loud and a bit of a train wreck on precious Thursday night. But hey, she’s an adult and not retarded, different strokes.
Liking awful TV can’t be a bad thing when so much of TV is awful.
I don’t think a live studio audience or a laugh track automatically make a show bad and I don’t think single camera automatically makes a show good.
Whitney Cummings automatically makes anything suck, though. Have you ever seen her HORRIBLE stand up act?
Small quibble with last night’s Community: Modern double-action revolvers are HIGHLY unlikely to just go off when jostled.
Larger quibble: So are they going for “Jeff is the source of everyone’s misery” because it seems like Jeff is held to an unfairly high standard compared to the rest of the denizens of Greendale.
“Liking awful TV can’t be a bad thing when so much of TV is awful.” That is a valid point.
I can’t get over laugh tracks or studio laughter as it just kills the momentum of the show.
