The Annoying Orange is a stupid, poorly executed web series that is inexplicably popular. Its YouTube channel has over two million subscribers, and it boasts another ten million fans on Twitter and Facebook. The idiotic video below, which I somehow watched for almost two minutes, has been viewed 18 MILLION times.
You know where this is going, right? It’s going to be a TV series.

I understand that as an adult, I’m not always going to understand the appeal of children’s programming to kids. But I also hope that as a parent, I’ll steer my children away from shows that blow this hard. “Go to your room, young man! And don’t come out until you’ve watched the entire catalog of Monty Python!”

Putting human eyes and lips on fruit is just creepy as fuck. I lasted about 30 seconds.
If someone is going to make a show based on a youtube account or twitter followers they need to make a show based on @dadboner twitter account, you guys.

I couldn’t even bring myself to click on it. Not sure if it’s the creepy factor or the fucking stupid factor. Perhaps a tie.
This reminds me of an episode of one of those late-night creepy shows (Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, but probably of lesser quality) where a lady bought this weight-loss hearing aid that made it so she could hear food screaming as it was being eaten. Later she bought these glasses where she could see eyes on three pieces of fruit and the fruit started chanting “Please don’t eat us, please don’t eat us.” She promised them she wouldn’t eat them, but later she got really hungry and almost ate the banana, so she eventually sewed her mouth shut. That was good. This sounds like crap.

THANK YOU Zack for clearing that up for me!! I remember seeing that as a kid, and looking back on it, I figured it was an 80′s tv show version of either Twilight Zone or Outer Limits.

My kids are also the culprits. This and the music are my two battles on development of taste. At least when I let my older one read the first page of The Road she said “Daddy, that’s absolutely beautiful writing” before she went back to reading Captain Underpants.
I actually came here to see what others think about this becoming a TV show however after watching two videos one being a “Saw Parody” I actually laughed my ass off this is vastly better than Fred, now don’t get me wrong this show isn’t something I would watch on a regular basis however the 90′s are gone the TV shows for kids are going lower brow, which I want to believe makes children stupid, however I believe its also partially due to many factors but I believe there is worst things on TV to watch. I no longer could complain about this however TV needs to have a bit more logical thinking if anything I would recommend the Anime/Cartoons they air in Japan uncensored unedited clearly anything is better than trash were being fed.
