Comedian Patrice O’Neal died last night, one month after suffering a massive stroke. The longtime Comedy Central presence had previously battled diabetes, which served as the butt of several jokes in his final TV appearance, the roast of Charlie Sheen. He was 41.
O’Neal’s TV credits included a stint on “The Office,” regular appearances on “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn,” and a memorable one-off as the pyromaniac T-Bone in “Arrested Development” (There’s always money in the banana stand). He was also the second-best part about In the Cut (banner image & video below), which reminds me: R.I.P. Meg Ryan’s original face.

JUST listened to his WTF interview last week. He hated white people in such a sincere way, it just made my heart sing. He will be missed. [wtfpod.libsyn.com]
He also was Pit Bull in the Chappelle’s Show Player Haters Ball skit.
Pit Bull is nominated for calling the cops on his drug-dealing neighbors, not because it was the right thing to do, but just ’cause he was jealous of all the money they was makin’.
Oh crap. I liked Patrice, as he was a diabetic like me. Shame he couldn’t get it under control though.
“I’ve been sitting next to this bitch all night!”
When Giraldo bit the dust, I was bummed. This is just downright depressing. I’m gonna need at LEAST an hour’s worth of corgi videos.
And yet Carlos Mencia still lives and breathes…
I don’t want to live in a world where Patrice O’Neal is dead and Carlos Mencia not only lives, but spits in the face of comedy with a special the very same week.
boy the next Comedy Central Roast is goung to suuuuuuuuuuuuck
“T-Bone, did you burn down the storage unit?”
“Most definately.”
“Kiss my ass! I’m the biggest hater!”
RIP dude. That’s a tough one. I am sure Amy Schumer already has a routine ready for his funeral.
“T-Bone’s my roommate. He’s a flamer.”
RIP Patrice
damn, a true talent, but see this is what we should expect now…Kardashians, Hiltons, Lohans all the no talent leeches get to live and prosper…depressing
he also let Tosh.0 rip off his show Web Junk 20. He was so benevolent
He had a bit in his standup a few years ago, about how no guy has ever been hanging out with all his friends and wished his girlfriend was there… just absolutely nailed how I felt about relationships at the time. RIP.
In the last year: Clarence Clemons, Heavy D, and Patrice O’Neal.
Sigh- shoulda been you keenan thompson.
so Patrice o’neal and Greg Giraldo die, yet Dane cook and Carlos mencia live? I hate the world sometimes.
I’ve never been one to self promote on here, but I felt the need to show what I posted on my blog. There’s some classic bits of him with Opie & Anthony for download the deserve to be heard. There was so much more to Patrice than just Pitbull and Elephant In The Room.

I forgot all about that Web Junk show. It didn’t really work though, because that’s just not Patrice’s style of comedy. RIP Big Man.
This sucks.
I still think Patrice’s story about the creepy cold guy on O&A is one of the most amazing things.
/stares at the avatar, which is like looking in a mirror.
//Fuck.
I thought the banner pic was from the time he stormed onto the Jerry Springer set.
He has a ton of amazing stories and bits that he has done on Opie and Anthony over the years. I always youtube those and will continue to do so. A damn shame
Im gonna miss Patrice and his death now makes me want to punch Amy Schumer in the face. To be fair people, she does have a punchable face.
Here’s my question : when dudes like this, or Giraldo die, everyone and their mother come out and say they were geniuses.
I had heard of both Patrice and Giraldo before their death, but not until they died did everyone come out of the woodwork and give them the props they were apparently due.
So… what hte fuck people. If you have a comedian who is Christ incarnate of comedy, TELL THE FUCKING WORLD before they kick the bucket, for fucks sake. I’m sick of hearing of these people only after they bite it.
If anyone listened to O&A today, Bull Burr called in and told a story about when Patrice met with execs at Comedy Central about doing a pilot he spent the entire meeting bashing the execs for putting the Mind of Mencia on the air. His career was definitely on his own terms and I will miss hearing his laugh so much. I think someone put today’s O&A up on YouTube. A ton of comedians were in studio or called in to talk about him and it was really great to listen to.
