When you’re a politician, you enter a dimension of reality where people criticize you for having beliefs that don’t line up with their own. That’s what happened last week to Tea Party presidential hopeful Michele Bachman, when she appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and the Roots played a Fishbone song called “Lyin’ Ass Bitch.” Bachmann seized on the opportunity to politicize the moment, demanding an apology from NBC and saying that Michelle Obama would never be treated like that. So NBC apologized, but Bachmann is unsatisfied because it wasn’t from the PRESIDENT of NBC.
Doug Vaughn, NBC’s senior vice president for special programs, wrote Bachmann a personal letter on Wednesday. He called the show’s choice to play a snippet of Fishbone’s “Lyin’ Ass B—-” as she walked on the show both “unfortunate” and “unacceptable.”
“Of course I accept the apology but my guess is that it would have been the president of the NBC that would have been apologizing not a senior vice president,” had a liberal, like Michelle Obama been the guest, she told KLIF radio in Dallas on Friday. [NY Daily News]

Bachmann can talk all about it on her Fox News show, “Stupid Cunt,” airing every Thursday at 8, followed by Herman Cain’s “The Cain Train.” All aboard.
Also, you realize what happens when you do something like this, right? The reporting on this keeps her in the news and google worthy, ignore her and she’ll go away. Help keep her in the news cycle for whatever reason and she’ll get a devoted following of “us vs. them” and stick around for years after her expiration date, a la Palin.
I for one applaud anyone that can make Fishbone relevant. I happened to enjoy the assassination joke because it has legitimacy.
More people are in tuned with politics now than they were 100 years ago (thanks internets), so more people have opposing views for political figures. Add that to the fact the US population is much bigger than it was a century ago…. You would think that would translate to more assassinations. It’s science (or math – was never good at either)

You’re clearly not familiar with the Darwin Awards, nor have you been to a combat zone. Death is plenty funny.
I’m not trying to be edgy; I’m speaking truthfully. I’m not calling for her assassination; I’m legitimately amazed that we lost high-profile political leaders like the Kennedys and MLK, yet 50 years later — with more guns and more politically divided rhetoric in this country — more politicians aren’t getting shot. And yes, that’s insensitive to both Bachmann and Gabrielle Giffords, but I’m allowed to wonder aloud.
Finally, I take offense that this is seen as a political post. It’s bitterly APOLITICAL.
