Over a year ago, NBC ordered a pilot of a rebooted “Munsters” from “Pushing Daisies” creator Bryan Fuller. Yesterday, several outlets reported that NBC ordered a pilot of a rebooted “Munsters” from Fuller, with no mention that this exact story happened 14 months ago. I feel like I’m going insane. What happened to that other, previous, exact same pilot? Or is this the same pilot? But then why repeat the news story? Whatever, here’s the rundown:
The new version of the half-hour sitcom is being re-imagined by the Pushing Daises creator as an hour-long series exploring how the monster house came about, and will have a darker and less campy feel than the black-and-white original. [EW]
Oh good, there’s such a dearth of dramas about monsters trying to live normal lives! Right now my only options are “True Blood,” “The Secret Circle,” “Vampire Diaries,” “Being Human,” and “The View.” This dramatic re-make of a campy ’60s sitcom is just the breath of fresh air the genre needs.

if this is what’s required to get the awesomeness of Bryan Fuller back on my TV, I’ll take it
Wonderfalls’ Caroline Dhavernas, just as Canadian as Yvonne De Carlo and just as in need of wacky makeup.
I think they tried remaking The Munsters once before in the late 1980′s. This will not end well.
Oh, Bryan Fuller. I love you, but I just don’t know about this.
Can we finally have the “Pushing Daisies” comic instead?
This is the kind of dreck they think should replace shows likes of Community and Parks and Rec? NBC really is the worst.
Butch Patrick is anxiously waiting by the phone
Hopefully this will be as successful as the recent reboots of Knight Rider and Charlie’s Angels.

No, he’s busy these days working under his new stage name “Mel Kiper Jr.”
@Patty YES, PLEASE.
It’s a shame Peter Falk’s dead; he would have played the hell out of that one-eyed pig role.
I have always hated the theme song from the original show.
Why can’t they bring back Petticoat Junction instead…?
You have no idea how distraught I will be if that comic never comes out. The teaser pages Fuller posted on Twitter were fantastic.
“The View” comment was priceless, Matt.
Addams Family > The Munsters
great, maybe they can now explain how an attractive looking blond came to live with a house full of freaks and weirdos. Can we get an address for the moron responsible for this so I can send him a poopsenders.com gift basket?

I just assumed she’d been cast as the new Bachelorette.
Addams family is so much better than the munsters
“Because this is easier than having to try and censor Community,” one NBC was overheard saying as he sipped a 7-and-7 in his office at 10 a.m. on a Tuesday.
LOL, The View. totally agree though.
@Otto Man Damn you, it’s a super easy joke but it still caught me off-guard.
I have absolutely no desire to have The Munsters on my television, especially when NBC is threatening my beloved Community, but just the other night I was wondering when Bryan Fuller would get back in the game.
