“What Is A Threesome?”

On a night that featured an impressive array of comedy (including “Community,” “Parks & Recreation,” It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “The League,” and an episode of “Conan” featuring both Louis CK and the return of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog), the funniest moment on television yesterday — by a LONG SHOT — took place on “Jeopardy,” during the show’s Tournament of Champions. That is because five-time champion Kara Spak responded to an answer in a category about groups by ringing in and saying, “What is a threesome?” And the world LOLed.

Two additional notes about the clip:

1) The question they were looking for was “What is a love triangle?” I think I could make a pretty good argument that threesome and love triangle could be interchangeable in some situations. Especially among people who ain’t uptight. [points to stranger] This lady knows what I’m talkin’ about.

2) My favorite part of the clip is the very end, when Trebek absolutely hangs her out to dry by saying “Kara has obviously had much more experience than I.” What a fantastically unnecessary low blow. I mean, on the slut-shaming scale, that’s no more than one or two steps below writing and performing a song where you tell everyone in town to stay away from a girl because she likes to “travel around” and “go out with other guys.” It is significantly less catchy, though.
