Last night's "Community" was notable for a handful of reasons. First of all, and most importantly in the grand scheme of things, it was the last episode before the show goes on an open-ended leave. We don't know when (or [gulp], if) if it will be coming back, so for the show's die hard fans, this was kind of a big deal. Another reason it was notable was because it was the Christmas episode. Last year's claymation episode that dealt with real issues like loneliness and sadness set the bar extremely high, so I know I was excited to see where the writers decided to take things this year. They completely switched gears and pulled off a cheery, goofy musical episode that was at least as satisfying. "Community" has range, you guys.
Also, and I may have buried the lede a little bit here, Warming Glow favorite Alison Brie dressed up in a sexy Santa outfit and did a song and dance number that I would conservatively describe as the most important Christmas-related thing to happen since the birth of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Don't mind if we do.
Before I start ripping through all the GIFs from last night's episode, here is the full video of Annie's seductive, hilarious performance. Astute Warming Glow readers will recall that this isn't the first time we've seen Alison Brie in a sexy Santa costume. For the rest of you, enjoy:

NOTE: If anyone has a better quality GIF of this, feel free to post it in the comments. I looked high and low, but this was all I could find this morning.
UPDATE: Here's a better version, courtesy of commenter upther.

Here's Troy and Abed's awesome rap song. I want to live in this video.
And here's their awesome medley.

[sniff] You promise you'll be back after regionals? [sniff] PROMISE?! DON'T EVER LEAVE ME, "COMMUNITY"! I NEED YOU.
I'll leave you with the delightful version of "Carol of the Bells" that closed the show. I'm going to miss these guys so much.

I know the entire point of the dance was to make people like us (hey, I’m a guy like us!) feel like scumbags, but I don’t care. I really don’t.
I could watch number 5 forever.
Spoke too soon. Number 6.
I am Justin’s penis and I approve the message.
Probably the best use of a Santa costume since this:

As soon as Troy and Abed started rapping a grin lit up my face like…well like a Christmas tree.
Thank god there’s a little Troy and Abed for us ladies. And a little bit of the Dean for us all.
I was so glad Jeff made the joke about diminishing returns. They crossed that point very quickly for me
I look forward to Evil Troy and Evil Abed’s answer battle-rap.
So good I had to watch it twice, as I was laughing so hard the first time I missed stuff.
I absolutely loved the way the whole episode took the piss out of Glee. And as good as the Troy / Abed rap was (Childish Gambino!), I thought their next number in the rearranged study room was even funnier.
If NBC can’t pull their collective corporate heads out of their asses and put this back on in the spring, I hope some other network is smart enough to grab it. Shit, if I had to, I’d watch this on Univision and read subtitles.
@ Mel – To whatever extent possible, I promise to try to objectify both sexes equally. If Troy or Jeff had ripped their shirt off, those GIFs would be in here too.
The Carol of the Bells end was magical. I want it on my ipod right stat.
@ Stinky Pete – I knew I forgot something. The medley has been added.
Shirley has some pipes on her too. Is it wrong I’ve been attracted to her since the ‘Foosball’ episode?
What JoshK said.
I know the whole point of the song was to make us feel like cretins, but, according to my penis, Brie dancing all sexily is never EVER a bad thing!
Also, not to get off topic, “Always Sunny” was pretty amazing last night too! Mac’s actual name and kings of leon! Its a christmas miracle!
i enjoyed the rap music video interlude, but during shirleys number i high fived my brother. cut the cake my Lord
Thanks, @DG.
@Danger Yesssss- thank you.
Annie’s song and dance number is how I want to celebrate Xmas for the rest of my life. I’d hate for this show to end, but if it does what a way to end.
Britta or Annie is this generation’s Ginger or Mary-Anne. Provided of course this generation trolls blogs daily.
I’m a Britta man myself.
You could practically hear the Internet exploding during Annie’s musical number.
I keep trying to single out something that I particularly loved, but it was all so good. I swear, I will fly to NYC and chuck eggs at Rockefeller Plaza if NBC ruins this.
Never have I gone from so happy to so sad watching another amazing Community episode and then realizing it might be the last one. I may just go into hibernation until this hiatus nonsense ends and if it happens to never end, I don’t want to be awake anyways.
Also, could we please get Taran Killam into more stuff that doesn’t suck? He was awesome as homicidal glee coach.
Here’s a slightly larger version of Annie crawling.

Here’s another one of Britta dancing.

If Community doesn’t come back then I’m going to sign up for a class at Glendale Community College, just so I can pretend that I’m still watching the show.
Me so Christmas fucking murdered me.
Needs more Gillian Jacobs in full body spandex
the whole episode was fucking amazing as always for community, but it made me so sad at the end. YOU BETTER BE BACK AFTER REGIONALS =*[
community has ruined this blog, can anyone suggest a new television blog? thanks
“community has ruined this blog, can anyone suggest a new television blog? thanks”
cw.com, gtfo
You’re doing God’s work, DG

jjjjjj, I suggest shooting yourself in the head with a pellet gun with hollowpoints.
I’m gonna level with you guys…the Betty Boop voice does it for me, a lot.
Wait, you created a profile to post once to ask for a new TV blog? Google’s much less effort.
this was probably the best thing that happened / would happen this christmas season. now excuse while I´m gonna watch it over and over and over
jjjjj – You want a new blog? Try http://www.AolTV.com. I bet it is terrible. Go get your Gossip Girl fix.
Troy and Abed rap, Annie sexmas dance, and making fun of Glee the entire time. You just can’t go wrong. This episode was phenomenal.
Also props to Britta. She looked damn good in that tree costume
whoa! welll exxcuuussseee meeeeee
i totally agree with teeblerone…..as with all the community eps, big smiles…..then with this one, i got so angry at the end of the carol song….
angry at nbc
angry at us fans (i mean is there not a TV website that DOESNT cover this extensively, what more does nbc want from us)
angry at the world!!!
I love 30 Rock, Really enjoy Parks and Rec, and still get my chuckles from the office, but Thursdays on NBC has A HUGE HOLE IN IT….and its not streets ahead
They should have called the episode Alison Brie Fan Service.
Did anyone else catch that Alison Brie’s Christmas outfit is a callback to that awkward Video online of Brie singing Santa Baby for some sort of Idol Parody?
Sorry, here is the aforementioned Alison Brie Santa Baby video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5cdzc3YdFI
*pours booze on the floor*
This is for my homies, Troy and Abed.
It was great, though while the visual of Brie was arousing, and the lyrics were hilarious, the voice was annoying as hell. I also don’t agree that the song was supposed to make us feel like cretins? For what? Appreciating Annie/Brie’s sex appeal? Both the character and the actress have used that for their personal advantage…quid pro quo.
Of course, I never liked the little girl lost routine, so the message may have missed me.
@Tacos: the whole thing was a parody. It was SUPPOSED to be so stupid and infantile as to detract from the sexy outfit, hence Jeff’s joke about diminishing returns.
@Matt: I picked up on that. In the comments some people were saying they liked the betty boop voice and I was disagreeing.
I don’t particularly care for them making fun of Glee only because it’s like making fun of the retarded kid, which is basically what Glee is to comedy.
However, the scene between Troy and Annie when she’s talking about her bubbes is the best, and Troy’s reaction when she says one of them is dead was priceless.
WHERE IS THAT GIF?
@ Martin: While anti-glee sentiment has become more popular, the “retarded kid” still gets 5x the rating #s of Community so im not sure the analogy fits.
I want to live in this episode.
I started taking Community for granted before all the hiatus talk. Episodes like this is what will make me truly miss this show if it doesn’t come back. Bittersweet for sure.
Your opinions of Olivia Munn aside, knowing you’re keeping the Brie gifs alive here on WG warms my heart.
Did she “boop sex”? I heard “boob sex”.
After seeing clips of both lovely ladies in real life, I prefer Jacobs to Brie. Brie seems like an attention whore who knows too well how pretty she is.
@Borderline: I wouldn’t be surprised if all of these folks were unrepentant, insufferable narcissists. Like they say, never meet your heroes.
God bless us, every one. [www.youtube.com]
Merry Christmas.
The merciless and canny way those kids baited Shirley into singing was the highlight for me.
@Tacos – True! I’d like to invest in these giant tacos of yours.
Who’s Miyabi Style ? Cristmas GIFs?
Wow, Gillian Jacobs is BUILT! I thought she’d just be some anorexic Hollywood chick but she’s got some curves on her.
