A magical trend has been building on cable for years and it all seemed to culminate into this fantastic orgy of awesome in 2011: Nudity and quality television are no longer mutually exclusive. In fact, on HBO, on Showtime, and on Starz, the two have worked wonders together, like peanut butter and chocolate, like Gillian Jacobs and Alison Brie. No longer must you resort to Skinimax for cheap, soft-core thrills. Forget the bare bones plots and the pizza delivery boys. Awesome TV and toplessness CAN co-exist, and in 2011, these ten women were the television actresses you were most likely to see nude.
Lotte Verbeek, "The Borgias". "The Borgais" had one of the more remarkable pilot episodes of the 2011 television season, though it waned in the middle episodes. But where else are you going to combine your love of European history with nudity?

Morena Baccarin, "Homeland": One of the best dramas of 2011, "Homeland" stars Claire Danes and Damien Lewis, and is a smarter version of "24" combined with excellent acting and a few racy sex scenes.

Kathleen Robertson and Hannah Ware, "Boss": Maybe my favorite new drama of the year, Kelsey Grammer puts on a remarkable, intense Bryan Cranston-like performance as a ruthless brutal Chicago mayor , while Kathleen Robertson -- who some may remember as Clare Arnold in the original "Beverly Hills 90210" -- is not shy about removing her clothes, nor is Hannah Ware, who plays the mayor's drug-addicted daughter. But it's all to move the plot, folks. It's necessary.

Lucy Lawless, "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena": OK, maybe this one doesn't quite qualify as a good show, but there is a lot of blood and sex and ironic badness.

Anna Paquin, "True Blood": Look, I don't get this show, but I know it's beloved by a lot of really horny people who I'm pretty sure convince themselves that "True Blood" is a great show to justify their need to watch nude vampires copulate.

Emmy Rossum, "Shameless": A remake of a phenomenal BBC series, I bailed -- not because it's not great -- but because it tracked the BBC show too closely in the early episodes, and I'd already seen it. But, it's coming back for a second season and hopefully it will continue to take a divergent path from the original.

Emilia Clarke, "Game of Thrones": A Warming Glow favorite for obvious reasons, "Game of Thrones" combined sex, violence and artistry better than any other show in 2011 and gave us the most shocking season finale of the year. Unless you've read the books, in which case: Stop being so smug.

Paz de la Huerta and Gretchen Mol, "Boardwalk Empire": "Boardwalk Empire" holds the title of the slowest drama on premium cable, and some infer intelligence from the glacial pacing while others just stick around for the nude Paz. She's crazy cakes.

Glad to hear “Boss” is actually as decent as I thought it looked in the previews. I’ll have to remember to steal some episodes at some point. Much like I did GoT, even though I still haven’t watched them…
I loved it when Robertson’s character was approached by a dude at a bar, and she reached into his pants to feel how big his dick is before she agrees to a snogging. You gotta love a woman who knows what she wants.
I read all the GOT books and have to say that the best nudity is still coming.
*Farts into decanter, swirls it and takes a big whiff.
Have they announced who they’ll cast in the role of the redheaded wilding? I’m holding out hope that they don’t miss an opportunity to use Deborah Ann Woll again, since she’s already an HBO favorite. And I’d really like to see (a lot) more of her.
This is my kind of list. Giggity.
0tarin, what are you waiting for with GoT? It’s the bees knees!
*does Charleston
Spartacus is a great show. Well, okay, maybe not, but it’s 10 times more complex and compelling than True fucking Blood.
Wait a second. Morena Baccarin was naked on t.v.? Screen caps, please.
Paz De La Huerta: Dat Face….sucks.
@0tarian, they have. Rose Leslie will play Ygritte.
She’s no Deborah Ann Woll, but not bad.

@UU:
And my dreams are yet again crushed. Although to be honest, given Ygritte’s description in the books, Woll would’ve been an awful choice, and Leslie there is far more suitable. Ah well…
But it’s all to move the plot, folks. It’s necessary.
As hot as those two are, the sex scenes in Boss are the worst thing about the show.
You’re a high-profile politician just gave a press conference in a hotel with your wife and kids by your side? Well, that was thirty seconds ago, so you might as well fuck your aide in a second-floor hallway overlooking the main lobby and visible from a million directions. No one will see you there, and neither will they see you fucking in an alley in downtown Chicago surrounded by windows.
Oh, you’re being chased by a rival gang who’s shooting at you, and you’ve ducked into a nearby home where the residents might still be hanging around? Well, you might as well fuck right there, too. Don’t worry about the homeowners, the cops, or the gang members. Just fuck your troubles away.
One thing I’ve learned from this show: If you fuck while standing up in Chicago, no one can see you.
Inara from “Firefly” gits nekid?!
*quickly grabs laptop*
I’ll be in my bunk.
PS – boooooooooooobz
Those Boss sex scenes sure are hilariously absurd. And they’d be probably the best thing about the show if it were a comedy. Like, a political version of Californication. But since it’s a drama, and it’s about as serious as dramas get, those sex scenes are just… well, fucking stupid. But they make for some good laughs in the hands of a wordsmith like Otto Man.
I for one applaud the new Warming Glows initiative to give me both the hardest hitting stories and biggest boners possible.
Shameless was a Channel 4 series, not bbc, and has got extremely poor in recent years.
The producers of The Walking Dead take issue with your giving the title of slowest drama to Boardwalk Empire. Through 7 fucking episodes they walked on a highway, then went to a barn, then shot zombies at the barn. 7. Episodes. FOR THAT.
…still…..there’s nothing wrong with a good pizza now and again……
@0tarin: You can’t just spring a Deborah Ann Woll GIS on a man. Some of us are barely holding together the semblance of working, and I’m pretty sure that an erection of those proportions would be the throbbing toppler of my house of cards.
Hey, if I’m not getting anything (work-related) accomplished, neither should anyone else.
Spartacus: Blood and Sand was OMFG awesome. Spartacus: Gods of The Arena wasn’t as good, but it made up for it w/ Jaime Murray. She needs to get more roles so she has a better shot at the next edition of this list.
It’s like the glory days of Hollywood in the ’70s and ’80s when an “R” rating guaranteed female nudity instead of now when an “R” rating guarantees sensitive ass shots of some guy.
The face of Helen of Troy launched a thousand ships. The face of Paz sank them.
@MyRei, “Throbbing Toppler” is my Halloween costume for next year. A charming, well mannered and erudite fellow that suffers bouts of priapism and narcolepsy.
I demand my 10th nekkid actress!
Gotta love that they finally put the mom/son plot point into Boardwalk Empire. Been a long time coming. Gretchen Mol makes for one hot mom.
You guys are crazy. Paz got the sexy ‘fuck me’ face.

A nice link for all the season 2 casting. Also, I believe that seasons 3-4 were already given the go ahead and will use concurrent filming, so that’s good.
Nobody watches True Blood for the plot. Duh.
Ratcatcher is bang on, Shameless was a Channel 4 production. Not everything that comes out of the UK is made by the BBC…
