Despite ABC’s efforts to slip the B word past America’s prudes, the conservative advocacy group Parents Television Council has come down hard on the new sitcom, “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23.
According to the PTC, “the program is a sexist mixed-bag of hedonism, drug-use, alcohol abuse (including the main character plying a 13-year-old boy with alcohol to get him drunk) and explicit levels of promiscuity that are shocking even by today’s broadcast TV standards.”
Wow! The creators of “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23″ should probably send the PTC a thank you card, as that blurb is now officially the show’s biggest selling point after The Beek. In fact, henceforth, all marketing materials for “Don’t Trust the B—-” should contain the phrase “explicit levels of promiscuity that are shocking by even today’s broadcast TV standards.” That should be good for a least an increase of half a rating point.

It worked for Gossip Girl
I was honestly on the fence about this show, but after that quote I think I will check it out. Thanks PTC!
The masturbating neighbor cares not for your standards of decorum!
I’m going to watch one more episode of this show, but I have a good feeling I’ll end up leaving the room to clean or put away clothes.
Judging by the pilot from last week, I don’t think the PTC need worry about worrying about this show for long.
The 13-year old drunk kid was the funniest thing in the ep! Thanks PTC!
Revised headline: “PTC Has Bug Up Butt.”
I also like the sentence “…the main character plying a 13-year-old boy with alcohol to get him drunk.” Bit repetitive, no? I feel like they should instead oppose getting a kid drunk in order to take advantage of him or something. Which, as having been a 13-year-old boy at one point, I assume you wouldn’t need alcohol to do.
Maybe the Parents Television Council should be less concerned with TV and more concerned with getting a better grip on the English language. Maybe they could ply themselves wit a book, amirite?
**holds hand up for high five that never comes**
I never could’ve seen this coming!
I’ve been resisting Krysten Ritter’s strange cuteness. But yup, they’ve pushed me into watching it too.
The PTC: Mixing messages for three decades!
Just curious, the PTC does goes after reality shows like Toddlers and Tieras, and 16 and pregnant, right?
The girl in the tub is Meghan Kelly from FOX News right? I just assume Meghan Kelly always has that look on her face…
Drugs and alchohol bad of course, along with sex. But go ahead and create a TV series based on torture and killing like “24″ and it’s all good right? I’ll never understand the mindset of people who are opposed to sex and intoxicants but love violence. I love all three, it’s a fucking tripod.
Any show that can have Bryan Cranston in full Walter White mode cameoing for a commercial is fine by me.
Not that I’ll watch it, mind you. Surveying the internet for Chinese dwarf porn is a harsh and demanding mistress.
