With the 2012 presidential election kicking into high gear, NBC and the White House announced this morning that President Obama will appear as a guest on “Late Night with Jimmy FallWHAT’S HE DOIN ON A COMEDY SHOW HE SHOULD BE FIXIN THE DANG ECONOMY. The show will be taped on Tuesday at the University of North Carolina, which is notable because North Carolina is an important swing state this yeOH I SEE HE’S GONNA TRY TO INDOCTRINATE OUR CHILDREN AS IF THESE LIBERAL IVORY TOWER UNIVERSITIES NEED ANY HELP. It’s not President Obama’s first appearance on a late night show, as he’s sat down with Jay Leno a few times, but it is his first appearance on the younger skewing show hosted by FaUGH I HATE LENO AND HIS STUPID RED STATE AUDIENCE THEY’RE RUINING ALL THE GOOD SHOWS LIKE THIS ONE I LOVE THAT NO ONE ELSE WATCHES. While there’s no official word on exactly what Obama will talk about on the show, it’s pretty safe to assume the recent controversy involving comments made by Ted Nugent will be addresTHESE RIGHT WING GUN NUTS ARE DANGEROUS AND SCARY AND ALL OF THEIR WORDS SHOULD BE TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY EVEN IF THEY ARE SPOKEN BY A LOONY GUITARIST FROM THE 1980S. The show will also feature musical guest Dave Matthews Band, who will perform a live set for the college crowI LOVE DAVE I’VE SEEN HIM FIVE TIMES AND PLAYED HIS ALBUM AT THE OCCUPY PROTESTS IT REALLY HELPED US MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Anarcho-libertarianism for some. Al Gore-George Soros circle jerks for others.
Whatever our politics, we can all agree that both Dave Matthews and Ted Nugent can choke on a dick, right?
Amen. The only thing worse than celebrities discussing politics is when people’s opinions and views are swayed by the celebrities
Otto in ’12: He’s not the Nuge.
Danger, you’re so full of shit. Nugent’s star rose and set in the 70s.
*j/k, bro!*
Are you saying Damn Yankees wasn’t the peak of his career?
Patton Oswalt would disagree.
If Ted Nugent and Chuck Norris hosted a podcast together it would set white guilt back 150 years
Gays are destroying TV.
I’m pretty sure that post just earned DG a degree in Political Science.
Nah. Not enough statistical modeling involved.
FYI: I am calming down after this post by listening to Blackstreet.
This is a way better Blackstreet song: [dai.ly]
I would like Obama to go onto Bill O’Reilly’s show and for Romney to go on The Daily Show. Then I wan’t O’Reilly and Stewart to sit down afterward and discuss one anothers’ interviews. This 2.5 hour television block would replace any debates, campaign commercials or any other election related television I would need to watch this year.
I would like all cable news shows to be canceled and replaced with reruns of “Miami Vice,” but hey, to each their own.
Damnit my pithy comment below was meant to be a reply to Danger’s post.
Here you go, Rick.
Edward James Olmos could kick anyone’s ass. Except acne.
Debate this!

Obama is an alien that lives on photo-ops and friendly interviews

Thoughts on the song the ?uestlove will choose?
Probably not “Lyin’s Ass Bitch”.
Simply put the President of the United States should not lower the office to appear on a talk show, regardless of format and regardless of party affiliation. Everyone always whines about how this is because Americans are ill-informed and how it’s good politics. I don’t want a warm, loveable president. I don’t want a man/woman in that office that seems like he’s “one of the fellas”. Also, the Daily Show is overrated. I’m tired of people acting like it’s the greatest show ever. It’s fun and it’s decent, not great. That’s it. Good night and good luck.

And yes, I realize this is about Fallon.
The Obama Administration seems to have some strage love affair with the Dave Matthews Band. Either that or their PR folks are just completely out of touch. Obama is holding a fundraiser here in Seattle next month, and Dave Matthews Band is playing there. At first it was like “well, Dave Matthews does live in Seattle” but this is a bit too odd to be a coincidence.
There is a small, but vocal Adele camp; similar to the Colin Powell (Jimmy Buffet) camp in the previous administration.
