What was once one of the best nights of the week for television with “Justified,” “Southland,” and “Parenthood” is kind of a wasteland. But at least there’s still …
Cougar Town (ABC) — Despite the midseason debut, the scheduling problems, and the paltry ratings, “Cougar Town” has never been better than it has this season. Tonight, Susan Blakely — who once played Eva Braun — is set to play Ellie’s sociopathic mom.
New Girl (FOX) — In tonight’s episode, the best new character of the season has a pregnancy scare. NOTE: Failure to pay for the abortion results in $5,000 contribution to the douchebag jar.
Raising Hope (FOX) — In the second season finale, the two-parter concludes with more revelations from “Inside Probe,” the “Inside Edition” knock-off with Nancy Grace, which reminds me a lot of the episode of “Cops” in “My Name Is Earl” that the same showrunner used.
Ummmm … ummmm ….
Storage Wars (A&E) — I’ve never actually seen this show, but I hear it doesn’t make you want to shoot yourself, which is a high compliment for a reality show. There’s a marathon of re-runs on tonight, should you get the notion to introduce yourself to the program.
Ringer (CW) — First season finale. Fun Fact: Sarah Michelle’s first major role was as Erika Kane’s long-lost daughter in “All My Children.” That is in no way an endorsement of “Ringer,” which is not a good show, but it’s a tidbit you might want to drop during your book club when y’all are breaking down 50 Shades of Gray.
LATE NIGHT LISTINGS: Dave and Leno are in reruns; Kimmel has Mark Harmon; Ferguson has two Michaels: Sheen and Ian Black; and Julia Louis-Dreyfus is on “The Daily Show.”

Storage Wars is most tightly edited/directed show on television. The premise is ridiculous. The participants are completely uninteresting or unsympathetic. And the stakes could not be lower. But if it’s on I can’t stop watching.
They actually CAN be lower. Have you seen Storage Wars: Texas? Their BEST units are things I wouldn’t cross the street to get for free.
There’s a “marathon of storage wars” EVERY night. Well, very nearly. I know if I’ve got nothing to watch I’ll flip over to the channel and it’ll undoubtedly be on AND be an episode I’ve seen.
“This is the one where Barry takes the drums to Stewart Copeland to sell them.” “This is the one where Daryl buys a unit so that Dave doesn’t have all 11 units that make a complete set of equipment.”
I wouldn’t call Storage Wars exciting. Ever. But it’s strangely fascinating. I’ve gone from cheering for 3 of the 4 buyers to just wanting Brandi to bend over and pick something up.
Yuuuuup. If Brandi was not on the show, I’m pretty sure I’d never watch it. But truthfully, I want Barry to be my dad.
Whatever. I’m still drinking whiskey at 10 pm.
New Girl is not OK. Bring back Matt.
I can’t remember if I mentioned this or not. I cannot for the life of me get passed that the wardrobe department thinks that the camera is not picking up the fact that there are no effing lenses in Zooey’s glasses. It drives me crazy how lazy that shit is.
And the Schmidt love here makes me howl Bring Back Matt. The show is horribly written. So the characters quirkiness border on absurdism. Big deal. If Napoleon Dynamite taught us anything, it’s quirky characters don’t equal comedy. Granted, I’d walk a mile to drink Hannah Simone’s bathwater, but, aack now I lost track of what I was saying. Tits.
I agree. Zooey is a hot girl and an ok actress, but the show is as funny the Big Bang Theory.
I’ve laughed out loud a few times in each of the last few episodes. It’s definitely muscled its way past Modern Family on my pantheon of comedy shows.
Still can’t touch Community, Archer, The League, or Arrested Development.
Is it possible to agree with everyone here? I caught up on a few episodes last night, the show is growing on me fast. I did notice the glasses thing, but honestly her character seems like she would wear empty frames.
And Hannah Simone, dear lord where has she been my entire life. She had a line in a flashback a couple of weeks ago, something like “I had to let him, that was the hand that was inside Elmo” that made me elaughulate.
Last but not least, Bring Back Matt.
I happen to see Baggage Battles (or Wars, I can’t remember) where people were bidding at an auction for abandoned baggage and items from an airport. I was totally mesmerized. Then I searched for MOAR…then I saw Storage Wars. I am hooked, these buyers are pretty funny in context. Also, Brandi is smokin. She got kinda like a bizarro Jennifer Aniston when she has those big sunglasses on. I want to hug her.
If that boy in the picture for Cougar Town is the same kid who was in “Easy A” with Emma Stone, he really looks like a young Patton Oswalt to me.
I propose an hour of silence during the “Justified” time slot.
I’ll raise a one-armed toast to that.
I am legitimately fucking depressed at Raylan’s absence tonight….
When do Justified re-runs start?
