Fringe (Fox; Friday, 9 p.m.) – Season finale. “The team is pushed to its breaking point as it tries to stop a catastrophic event from happening.” Don’t worry, guys, you’ve already been renewed for season five. There’s no need to worry about the state of Friday nights on TV until next year.
SNL (NBC; Saturday, 11:30 p.m.) – Will Ferrell hosts, Usher performs, and I’ll have a recap up by noon on Sunday, most likely discussing how I wish Ferrell was still on the show.
Demolition Man (Telemundo; Sunday, 2 p.m.) – Give your mom the Mother’s Day gift of Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes grunting in Spanish.
The Simpsons (Fox; Sunday, 8 p.m.) – Ned and Edna get married. Maybe they can snag the Doobie Brother that Homer and Marge couldn’t?
Bob’s Burgers/American Dad (Fox; Sunday, 8:30/9:30 p.m.) – For the first time this year, the two best Animation Domination shows air new episodes on the same night. And it’ll be the last, because it’s the “American Dad” season finale. Dick move, Fox.
Desperate Housewives (ABC; Sunday, 9 p.m.) – Series finale. Goodbye irrelevant show about a group of awful women that no one’s watched or talked about, outside of the trial, since 2007. It’s been…fun? No, that’s not the word I’m thinking. Got it! “Awful.” Yup, that’s it.
Sherlock (PBS; Sunday, 9 p.m.) – I’ve read The Hound of the Baskervilles, but I don’t remember it involving genetically engineered dogs being used by the military. This show is awesome.
Game of Thrones (HBO; Sunday, 9 p.m.) – A character who hasn’t been seen since the first episode of the season returns, Dany receives an invitation to a certain House, and Theon continues to be a massive tool.
Mad Men (AMC; Sunday, 10 p.m.) – The episode’s called “Dark Shadows.” Is AMC cross-promoting with Tim Burton’s new movie of the same name? The answer: yes, of course. I’ve been saying for years that the only thing missing from “Mad Men” is gothic architecture.
Veep/Girls (HBO; Sunday, 10 p.m.) – To be fair, both shows are getting better every week. It’s just that “Veep” was already so good to begin with. Matt Walsh 4 Every Award.
The Borgias (Showtime; Sunday, 10 p.m.) – Oh yeah, this network. When’s “Homeland” back?

I cannot wait until Taco Bell wins the fast food wars.
It probably won’t be the sole entity of Taco Bell, but more likely Frito Lay/ Pepsi as a whole will overcome the competition. The Doritos Locos is a fine example of them shoving their other brands into our faces, quite literally. And since the whole world, or at least anyone with “Executive” in their job title, is convinced that everything must be “branded” these days we’re looking at a full on Brand War. God I hate Taco Bell, but I want a Nachos Bell Grande and a Doritos Locos supreme so bad right now….
Way to overthink a Demolition Man reference there sport.
Can one truly overthink a Demolition Man reference? I think not.
Veep is to political comedy what the first 4 seasons of The West Wing was to political drama. We won’t talk about the other seasons of West Wing, if that’s alright with everyone?
Gotta be Jamie on GoT, right? Or Grey Wind?
Grey Wind was on another episode, when he tore apart the farting guards.
Speaking of farts, you may have my new favorite screen name.
Oh yeah, can’t believe I forgot about Grey Wind and the badass fart.
Fuck yeah, Matt Walsh!
Who’s coming back to GoT? Who!? WHO!??!? There is no waiting.
KINGSLAYER!
Two seasons deep but Waymond NEEDS a spinoff.
It’ll be nice to just enjoy the rest of Fringe, instead of constantly worrying about its fate. Sure, I’ll probably cry during the entire finale, but I’ll be ready.
I was super mad until they mcguyvered that bullet out.
also, I think 4×19 was a potential future, not the guaranteed one.
Every time I read I “Fringe” synopsis, I just end up getting nostalgic about the X-Files. Is that normal?
Also, I really need to start to watching “Sherlock” show.
Bandersnatch Cummerbund is the boss!
I’ve got a question about Sherlock: is it going to be 90 minutes every week, or was that just for the premiere? I had to miss the last third of it last week because of the way I’d scheduled things (although the point at which I left off worked well enough as a conclusion). Dunno if that schedule will work better this week, or if I have to shuffle things around.
Indeed, every episode runs 90 minutes.
How odd. Thanks for the info!
Has anyone else been watching Jeopardy this week? I haven’t been this happy to see someone win something (Elyse won the teen tournament) in a long time. Also, yesterday she correctly answered a question whose clue was “Troy and Abed” (the category was something like “TV duos”).
Sweet. Troy and Abed on Jeo-paaar-dy!
Sherlock is indeed fantastic. And now that I’ve actually heard the voice of that oddly-named Limey alien, I kinda understand why so many chicks are all over his junk. He’s got a bit of an Alan Rickman thing going on.
