Here’s an amazing way to not-waste 14 minutes of your life today: watch a YouTube video that features one joke from every episode of one of the funniest shows of all-time, “Mystery Science Theater 3000.” Hearing the beatnik scream, “I killed that fat barkeep” takes me back to the good ol’ days of watching hours of “MST3K” on my couch in high school, curled up with a nice bag of Funyuns, while Troy McGreggor penning his fan-letter to Counselor Troi reminds me of seeing The Final Sacrifice for the first time, with a trusty bag of Funyuns at my side.
A lot of my memories involve Funyuns. And being a virgin. Also: Mike > Joel. Had to be said.
This would be the greatest thing ever, were it not for that terrible background music.

Can’t wait to watch this- I don’t know how they could pick just one from Mitchell but I hope it’s “So long, CHUM!” or “You and I are going to rule the ghetto young man.”
You’re going to be disappointed.
I wish it had been “Arteries clogging … MITCHELL!”
I’ve always found it weird that there is even a Joel vs. Mike debate. It’s Mike and it’s not even close.
Mike was a more natural host, you can tell by looking at the outtakes, Joel fucked up a lot of stuff.
But the Mike episodes are largely better because there were more jokes. There’s a breakdown somewhere about how many jokes per episode were made and they went up steadily as the show progressed. The writers got more comfortable so there were fewer silent gaps in the riffing.
That being said, give me Pod People over anything in the last two seasons all day every day.
HUZZAH!
Agreed. Mike > Joel > Emily > Zooey
There was a list on ToplessRobot about why they both Rock and it was awesome

ROWSY ROWSY ROWSDOWER.
Time to clear 15 minutes in my schedule this morning? I’ll find a way.
I thought my “Mike is better” opinion would break the interwebz or something. Good to know I’m not alone out here.
Background music should never be louder than the audio of the video you’re showing. Whoever made this is a hero, but also an idiot.
Abso – lutely.
Yes and yes. I made it five minutes before the background music got me.
I’m sorry, Mike is still the “new guy” to me. I feel disloyal liking him better.
I will admit there is a valid argument for Mike over Joel though. Especially now that he’s been with them for so long. Go to a theater to watch one of the rifftrax live events if you can. I was shocked to see how many others were there. Goodtimes.
The next one is Manos. I don’t like the idea of a Manos riff with no Joel and no Trace, just seems very very wrong.
The Christmas one from a few years ago that ended with Kevin in lingerie was a great night for all.
One joke per episode, so all the funny parts then!
(Sorry. But watching these on Netflix again made me think the show has aged terribly.)
Good God.
BOOOOOOO DIFFERING OPINIONS!!!!
YOU’VE AGED TERRIBLY.
I have every episode that has come out on DVD and watch them all the time… well, I watch them whenever I have trouble sleeping, but the only thing that has aged on the show were some of the host segments. The movies themselves and the riffs throughout them, are timeless.

They have awful ones on netflix. “Werewolf”, “Touch of Satan”, “High School Big Shot” are great (although HSBS has a slow beginning”. “HOBGOBLINS”, for the love of god.
There are a ton on Google Video and YouTube as well. I have all of them between the box sets and tapes converted to my computer, there are some early ones that don’t hold up, but goddamn most of them are still top quality.
An American Werewolf in Traffic.
I’ll consider this an awesome belated birthday gift.
