It’s been TWO WHOLE DAYS since we mentioned “Community” on the site, and since we know your brains are like sieves and you’ll forget about the show if it’s not brought up at least once every 48 hours, here’s some real, actual “Community” news: Despite speculation to the contrary, Chevy Chase will be back next season. In fact, according to Deadline, the ENTIRE cast will be back next season to go through the motions of pretending that the fourth season of “Community” will, in any way, resemble the Dan Harmon years. As a special f**k you to Harmon, the fourth season will be the Chevy Chase Year! Guh.

Also, if you’re geeky and into that sort of thing, the cast — except for Chevy Chase (who has other commitments) and Donald Glover (who is too busy being awesome) — will be at Comic Con next month. The new showrunners, David Guarascio and Moses Port, are not happy about that, according to their Twitter account:
NBC is trying to make us go to some comic book store in San Diego this summer to promote Community. Sounds like a waste of time … Apparently this San Diego thing NBC wants us to go to is a comic book convention. Um, Community is a TV show, not a comic book, you doofs!!!
But don’t worry, they totally have the next season under control:
We have old Just Shoot Me scripts. Gonna change the characters’ names, make it a college instead of a lady magazine, & let the cameras roll.
They are a little bummed, however, that Dan Harmon has given them such a chilly reception:
Dan Harmon still hasn’t called to congratulate us on the Critics Choice Award.
The new season of “Community” kicks off on October 19th.
We had NBC push our premiere back to October 19th so we could have our epic six-week cast and crew air hockey tournament. We’re pumped!
(And yes, I know it’s a fake Twitter account. Thanks Rayna for the heads up).

I actually forgot that Dan Harmon was fired. Or blocked it from my mind.
Am I the only person who isn’t completely sure that the new show runners will screw things up? Dan Harmon may have been great, but attributing the entire success of the show to him does a disservice to the talented writers and cast.
Let the tomato throwing commence.
A number of them left after Dan was fired. Though some great ones did stay, like Megan Ganz.
When the actors don’t go through the motions (they like to work from what I understand) and lo and behold something funny gets televised… the show’s natural constituency will heap shovelfuls of dirt on it. Dead cl*sterf*ck walking.
I was actually going to post pretty much this exact same sentiment, but didn’t feel like dealing with the backlash and because I’m lazy. I feel like enough groundwork has been laid during the first 3 seasons that the writers would almost have to TRY purposely to fuck things up.
It’s a shame Harmon couldn’t see his vision through to the end, but I think the cast and remaining writers are all talented enough to close out the series effectively.
Reasoned analysis? Is this still the internet?
I know Snowman I’m confused as well. THIS SHOW IS DEAD TO ME! IT SHOULD HAVE ENDED AT SEASON 3 CLOSE! ALL THE ACTORS SHOULD HAVE COMMITTED SEPPUKU WHEN DAN HARMON WAS CANNED
Didn’t Chevy and Dan made up weeks ago? It was on Dan’s twitter.
“We have old Just Shoot Me scripts. Gonna change the characters’ names, make it a college instead of a lady magazine, & let the cameras roll.”
Cool, when do we get to see David Cross acting crazy?
I would love nothing more than to see Donnie ask Britta to “kiss like on Showtime”.
The critics choice one made my blood boil. Seriously.
Actually, the account is funny, but it’s so depressing.
The headline is stupid & wrong. They fell out a couple of times, thats it. They’re fine now.
Chevy was right
Gillian Jacobs > Alison Brie
Zooey > the other one
Anna Torv > Kirsten Bell
Gillian to me is definitely the funnier more interesting character.
Too bad it’s a fake account. I would have actually appreciated that they were making light of everything.
I love that the Community fans are so upset over what’s-his-name leaving because it’s a fucking sitcom. No matter how much you like it, it’s still a dumb-ass sit-com, with dumb-ass sitcom jokes and dumb-ass sitcom fans that won’t shut up about a dumb-ass sitcom. Everything you have ever said in praise of it sounds exactly like what all the dumb-ass Seinfeld and Friends fans used to say about those dumb-ass sitcoms, dumb-ass.
Well, yeah. It’s a fanbase, what do you expect?
Chevy is great on the show, it’s good he is coming back, what’s the problem or are we just supposed to hate everything about the show because Dan left. I love the show but before it Danny Pudi did shit adverts about butt dialing and Ken plays the same character in everything, Chevy has done funny stuff before community[ as well as terrible crap]
I’m still hopeful with Megan there as a writer. I wouldn’t be sad to see Chevy and Chang leave though; when they were promoting a character death I was hoping it was one of them.
If anything kills this programme, it’s not going to be the writers, the showrunners or the network. It is going to be the negative fans who will not even give the programme a chance without Dan Harmon. If it turns out to be really crap and fans leave, so be it. You need to give it a chance first, though.
