Here is a video titled “95 Seconds of ’90s TV Nostalgia” that is … well, exactly that. It’s a minute and a half of short video clips from children’s and young adult shows from the ’90s all smushed together and set to the theme song from Step by Step. While they hit a lot of the biggies (Family Matters, Full House, Clarissa Explains It All, Rugrats, Double Dare, Rocko’s Modern Life, Ren & Stimpy, etc.), this compilation gets a D+ from me for failing to include clips from ANY of the following shows: Saved by the Bell, GUTS, Boy Meets World, and Kenan & Kel. Completely unacceptable Who knows a lot about ’90s TV shows? DG knows a lot about ’90s TV shows. Is it true? Ohyesohyesohyes it’s true-oo. I do I do I do I do-oo. (UPDATE: Kenan & Kel is at the 0:32 mark. The grade has been changed to a C.)
Other than those glaring omissions, the one thing that jumped out at me from this video is that I apparently still know all the words to the Step by Step theme song, which is an incredibly stupid thing to be wasting brain cells on. Do you remember the one episode of Married… With Children where Kelly went on a game show and they figured out that she could only keep a certain number of things in her brain at a time, so whenever she learned a new fact it ended up pushing an old one out? I feel like that’s probably true, but for some reason my brain has locked the Step by Step theme song away in some highly secured vault with laser censors guarding it, and the only way a new, important fact would be able to replace it is if the new one hires Catherine Zeta Jones to dip beneath them all sexy-like to get it out.
In this analogy, facts are Sean Connery. I am good at analogies.

DG, isn’t that Kenan and Kel at :32?
Daw, horsefeathers.
Kenan & Kel are in there at the 30 second mark. This vid should get bonus points for suing the shot from the opening credits where they jump on that couch with Coolio.
Who knows 80s tv? I DO OOOOO. Thats definitely Arvid Engen working in the store.
What question did Kelly lose the game on? “Who scored 4 touchdowns in a single game for Polk High?”
suprised to not see salute your shorts or are you afraid of the dark on there. and i totalllllyyy forgot about smart guy. and what about hanging with mr. cooper?
All of this incessant 90′s nostalgia is starting to make me hate the 90′s. I didn’t think it was possible, but this video was apparently my breaking point.
Yo, there is definitely a lot to hate from the ’90s. A LOT. Ain’t no shame in admitting that.
Nothing makes me hate the generation below me then when they prop up 90s nostalgia as something to be celebrated. The entire ABC Friday night lineup was terrible homogenized Disney horseshit. I’ll give credit where credit is due: Rocko and Ren & Stimpy were fantastic and subversive in their humor and thats it.

@El Nemesisto, remembering something fondly from your childhood is not necessarily celebrating it. I think most thinking folks (and there are a lot of exceptions to THAT modifier) realize the shit they watched as kids was, in fact, shit. Doesn’t mean we can’t look back and say “i LOVED that show!!” and then mumble “god I was an idiot.”
I wish they’d tried harder than “here’s the title screens for what was on ABC and Nickelodeon”.
I bet this would’ve meant more to me if I hadn’t been in my 20s for most of the 1990s.
For starters, “Step by Step” was a television show of some kind? Let me guess … about a merged family, where the mom has kids from a previous marriage and the dad does too, and they form a new family of step-children? Man, it’s about time TV tackled that topic.
At least they were smart enough to cut out Alice but kept the dog.
ALICE WAS THE BEST PART!
I’m with you Otto Man!
Thanks, EN. Maybe we can carpool to Rite-Aid to pick up some fiber laxatives and blood pressure medication.
Do you remember the one episode of Married… With Children where Kelly went on a game show and they figured out that she could only keep a certain number of things in her brain at a time, so whenever she learned a new fact it ended up pushing an old one out?
In keeping with ’90s nostalgia, Simpsons did it.
“How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?”
“Homer, you were drunk!”
“And how!”
Even Stevens was barely 90′s
Bill Nye! He gave a talk at Syracuse in ’08? and it was basically the highlight of my college experience.
And that Big Comfy Couch shit still skeeves me out. Glad that hasn’t changed.
I still use the Kelly Bundy analogy. Get out of my head, you’re taking up precious space.
I’m 20 years old and this made me so happy I can’t even describe it
GLARING OMISSION!

Also I just discovered via IMDB Cosgrove’s wife in Mad Men is the same girl who played Alex Mack. Mind blown.
I was going to rant about how I hate my generation because all we do is create shitty wankfest nostalgia videos like this to reflect on our youth. But then I realized that we’re getting old and old people always look back at their youth with nostalgia. The only problem is, we’re the first generation that has the technology to reflect upon our youth and shove it down everyone’s throats.
Thank god the Depression and Baby boomer generation didn’t have youtube when they turned 30 something.
In conclussion, where the fuck is the Simpsons, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles?
I wanted to bang Christy Carlson Romano from Even Stevens soooo bad!!! whenever she raised her eyebrow I…..ugh…ngh…mfh….oh yeah!!!!
Look at Al, the hot tomboy from Step by Step. Saw this the other day.
