Lost in the TCAs excitement of another season of Louie, as well as The League and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia coming back in October and a “minimum of six seasons” for Justified, was Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter announcing that his show has an end date in mind. And that it’s still some time from now.
Creator Kurt Sutter confirmed the news in a post-session interview at the summer press tour. SOA has already been renewed through season six while Sutter earlier this year inked an overall deal with FX.
“We have a sense of it playing out in seven [seasons], he said. “At this point, which is not outside the realm of possibility, I think I’d really have to f*ck things up not to get seven seasons.” (Via)
Season five premieres on September 11th, which means, assuming every season gets a 13-episode order, there are still 39 installments left to air. That could be a good thing, if Sons is as exhilarating as the first 13 episodes of season four, or a bad thing, if Sons is as infuriating as the last episode of season four. Here’s hoping for the former — and for more creepy Ron Perlman smiles.

I would love to see a Sons of Anarchy/Justified crossover episode. Samcro has to make a drug delivery to Boyd Crowder in a certain Kentucky county. Only one man stands in their way: Raylan Givens. Joel McHale guest stars.
Shoehorn Ian McShane and I’m sold.
Too gimicky.
It would be better if it were a brief moment in passing. Like if Boyd was pumping gas and a member of SAMCRO walked by him and he was in frame for 2 seconds. Givens could be in line trying to buy some gum. Just the acknowledgement that they exist in the same universe without interacting would be fantastic.
Raylan pumping gas, SAMCRO passes, Raylan takes a few steps forward, puts his hand on his gun and glares at Ron perlman who spits, then nods and the whole gang rides off.
Fuck, did I just write fanboy porn?
The Sons have to deliver a shitload of crack to Philly but it falls off a truck and Dennis and Dee find it and smoke it all.
If you’re going to do a crossover go big. Justified/SoA/Terriers/Shield crossover!!!!
Seven seasons seems to be what most shows are aiming for these days. You realistically need at the very least four, preferably five for syndication rights.
Would love to see this show run it’s full intended course. This show really surprised me after I started watching it on Netflix a while back and I hope to see more coming soon from the SoA crew.
