Earlier this morning, Josh posted the 2012 Emmy Nominations. There’s plenty there to rejoice about, mostly in the Drama categories. I guess if you have SEVEN nominees, it’s hard to leave out much. That said, they managed to leave out a few worthy nominees. In the Comedy categories, however, they just plain effing biffed it. All up and down the place. It shouldn’t come as a huge surprise: The Emmy Awards have always been three or four years behind the curve when it comes to comedy, and they’ve only just gotten over their obsession with The Office, exchanging it for a new obsession with Modern Family, another show already on the decline.
Below are this year’s biggest snubs. Now, I’m not saying they ALL deserved nominations. Especially in the drama categories, many of them certainly shouldn’t be elevated above those that were nominated. Think of some of them as genuine snubs, and think of others as runners-up, actors, actresses, and television shows that at least warrant our attention. Except for John Noble. Motherf—ing Emmy a**holes should have given him ALL the awards.
Among only the snubs, I have bolded who should win.

Worst Child Actor Ever
Manny, Modern Family

I don’t know what the hell the Penguins of Blowhole thing is that got nominated for best animated series is but Futurama and American Dad were both deserving. Archer was definitely deserving over The Simpsons.
Whatever that award is null and void until it recognizes The Venture Bros.
You sir. You get me.
3 words, Brock Motherfucking Samson
Bob’s Burgers was also deserving.
Good call, knew I was forgetting something. Any cartoon that HJB is in is just golden.
Lest we forget Lucy, Daughter of the Devil.
“You own a dildo factory?”
“Yeah. Of course.”
Modern Family writer 1: We need something here to fill time…..
Modern Family writer 2: Hey, let’s have annoying dipshit who plays Manny do something an old man would do!
Modern Family writer 1: Goddamn if this show doesn’t just write itself. (collects another emmy).
It’s like a paint by numbers picture being considered a masterpiece
Jack Huston and Reid Scott fail to make the UPROXX Official Snub List!
Double Snubbed!
Jack Huston’s acting with only HALF HIS FACE. That guy’s incredible.
“Hmm.”
Not to be “that guy who can’t understand why people enjoy Girls”, but I absolutely am. Seen all the episodes, my roommate loves it, and I want to put a gun in my mouth during every episode.
Which of course means it will win all 3 awards its nominated for, and be praised and praised and praised.
I’m right there w/ you, buddy.
Also, it’s a comedy?
I’m pretty sure Adam Carolla had just finished watching the first season right before he made his infamous remarks.
If Nurse Jackie is a comedy in the Emmy assholes’ eyes, then sure.
Max Greenfield was nominated, and wow you must really love Raising Hope.
I find myself in a weird position, I didn’t like Girls, but I thought Adam Driver was brilliant in it and deserves a nomination (possibly even a win).
Do Emmys voters only vote on episodes that are submitted? Maybe you need a few episodes to recognize the brilliance in Happy Endings and all the deserving actors (I know it took me a couple to warm up to it in Season 1 before diving in headfirst)
Dillahunt and Plimpton are really good on Raising Hope.
Yes, though I’d call them more supporting actors than lead. But then it just wouldn’t be fair to not give an award to both DIllahunt and Offerman.
Another year goes by, another year being internet-pissed at the lack of a John Noble nod.
+1
John Slattery has been snubbed for way too long. He’s the primary reason I watch MM. I would date Roger Sterling so hard.
JOHN NOBLE IS A GENIUS AND I WILL DIE PROTECTING HIS VISION.
Zosia Mamet > Allison Williams. From a comic standpoint, that is.
Shoshanna should have been nominated for something.
I don’t watch Fringe so I may be way off base here, but I would say that John Slattery did some of his best work on the last season of Mad Men. I dunno, John Noble probably did a perfectly cromulent job last season and my fanboy panties are in a twist for no reason.
John Noble rocks the shit every year and is criminally underrated. I liked Slattery last season but Noble is really that good.
You seriously put Sons of Anarchy in there? After their embarrassment of a season last time out? Shame.
Yeah, I love the show, but that shitty season deserved the snubbing.
If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go lock my doors before Kurt Sutter tracks me down.
Still better then 90% of the crap out there. Segal and Perlmans acting is 95% better.
Regina King is so freaking awesome. She totally deserves the Snubbie this year.
The Emmys are a human tennis elbow. They are a pizza burn on the roof of the world’s mouth. They are the opposite of Batman.
Just come out and say it — the voters Britta’d the Emmy nominations.
Seriously, Manny is the worst.
Alfie Allen – Game of Thrones
WHAT IS SNUBBED MAY NEVER DIE!
Also, just in case if anyone was wondering what was nominated over Archer here is one example: “The Penguins Of Madagascar: The Return Of The Revenge Of Dr. Blowhole” (Nickelodeon)
I think they heavily base their votes on ratings, especially comedies.
Nick Offerrman is more cool than he is funny. I think Adam Pally or Chris Pratt are more “funny”. They should add an award for Ensemble cast, cause in a lot of these shows there is no real lead or supporting role. Its all equal.
That award should be composed of the casts Dustin listed for best comedy, but they would still fuck it up.
Remember last year when that Alison Brie and Gillian Jacobs GQ picture came out the same day as the Emmy nominations? Good times, good times…
This?

No nomination for Walt Goggins is a fucking joke. The Raylan/Boyd dynamic is one of my favorite things on TV right now
Your best comedy snub list is better than the actual best comedy nominations. #sadbuttrue (“what’s butt rue? why is it sad?”)
ever had butt roux?
It’s not like it’s a total surprise that the Emmy’s pander to the lowest common denominator. It’s how our society works. Why else would Lil Wayne big so popular?
I can’t stand most sitcoms…is Manny worse/more annoying than early TNG Wesley Crusher? Wheaton might have a been a decent child actor, but damn his character was written badly early on.
I don’t know where else to post this, but Nick Searcy, Justified’s Art Mullen, has issued a post on Facebook banning all “liberals” from watching Justified.
It is interesting if you happen to follow him on Facebook or twitter, but his feed would make Fox News have aneurysm. Thought y’all would like to know.
A shocking number of good things missing.
Wouldn’t Gillian Jacobs be considered the lead actress on Community?
they britta’d the emmys as usual. TIMOTHY OLYPHANT, are they kidding?
Danny Pudi deserves it more than Offerman
