Nerd, dweeb, bookworm, freak, geek — I've heard all those terms thrown around inside San Diego's Convention Center during Comic-Con, and every time I do, I think of Bill Haverchuck. I'm not complaining. Bill, played by Martin Starr on NBC's Freaks and Geeks, is one of my favorite TV characters ever, a perfect representation of what it's like to be the kind of kid who races home after school to watch Garry Shandling specials while savoring a homemade sandwich. I think that's something a lot of Warming Glow readers understand all too well.
Today's GIFs of the Week includes selections from Futurama, The Newsroom, and True Blood, but also a collection of GIFs from Freaks and Geeks. Yes, it does include Bill dancing, and yes, that's probably one of the five greatest TV scenes ever. We'd never cut you off mid-funk.

My houseboy Manuel showed me a few episodes of that Freaks show and I have to say, the guys weren’t freaks. Or Geeks. They were Nancies! A bunch of sissy boys scared to punch the chipmunk with girls.

Replace “Garry Shandling” with “Batman: The Animated Series” or “Ducktales”, and you’ve encapsulated my entire childhood.
My favorite Haverchuck moment was when they watch the porno and he asks in a panic, “Are we gonna go to hell for this?!”
My favorite part of F & G was when Biff Tannen was nailing Bill’s mom.
Ah, Freaks and Geeks. Just another reason why I love IFC.
“You look like my grandfather.”
“Oh yeah? Is your grandfather super cool?”
Sonuvabitch….
Now I’m probably going to have to watch the entire run of Freaks this weekend.
“Mmm dinner smells great. Let me guess…..meat?”
