As anyone reading this website probably already knows, few things are more absurd and worthless than cooking segments on talk shows. Here, via Eater, David Cross portrays “Chef Bellini Pastafangu” in a talk show cooking segment spoof on Comedy Bang Bang to better demonstrate the ridiculousness of those things. With with host Scott Aukerman by his side, Chef Pastafangu makes what turns out looking like as the worst paella dish the world has ever seen.
Of course, Chef Pastafangu has a book to promote in the segment — a cookbook, naturally — appropriately titled How to Make Food: A Chef’s Guide to Recipes. Now watch the clip below, which promises to “take that rumble from your stomach and move it to your butt.”

I like Conan’s cooking segments. He usually just ends up drinking and making fun of the guest.
I concur. And Andy gets in the action too.
Craig Ferguson’s are pretty jokes too
I’m sure this is one of those things I would I know if I watched the show, but why is this in faux green screen? Why does no one comment on that? By no one, I mean the sketch and Cajun Boy?
Honestly, I had no idea what to make of it, but I giggled through the whole thing.
They’ll fix it in post.
I think it might be a subtle joke that all cooking segments on these shows are exactly the same and easily interchangeable?
there´s a lot of comedy bang bang stuff you just have to go with. absurd presumptions, never going to be explained, just because. i haven´t seen the cross-episode yet, but i guess they do not elaborate on the green-screen-mocap factor – they just expect you to accept it as it is. wheter you find it funny or not. (and i think – though i never listened to the podcasts – this show is funny as shit … never mention I´ve only watched two or so episodes not stoned … soo… dunno)
Cross just Green’d himself.
I know this is gonna get me beaten up behind the bleachers, but I don’t care for Comedy Bang! Bang! I never listened to the podcast –it never seemed interesting enough for me to take a gander. Or a goose. Whatever. Maybe this is how people who don’t like Tim and Eric see it (although I’m aware that T&E’s company Abso Lutely is a producer).
