We tend to “take on,” so to speak, shows that we feel more people should be watching and then tell everyone that they should be watching said show until they finally break down and watch the show, love it, and the cycle begins anew, passed from person to person, generation to generation. That’s my longwinded way of saying that Bob’s Burgers is My Show. Breaking Bad, Archer, and Community might get miniscule ratings, at least compared to Two and a Half Men, but they also have very vocal fan bases, and they’re doing totally fine.
Bob’s Burgers could use more love, or else Fox might replace it next season with another Seth MacFarlane show that isn’t American Dad! (another series that’s very good but no one talks about). That’s only a good thing if it’s called The Naked Emilia Clarke Half-Hour. So, you should watch this Sunday’s premiere and the trailer below. You’ll like it, we swear, and if you don’t, well, there’s always the Archer crossover episode.

Here’s another reason:

sons of anar-cheese.
I love this show so much. I will be sad when Fox cancels it, but I still can’t believe they’ve given it this long.
I don’t get why this show doesn’t do better, if only because it’s blocked in with the whole Animation Domination thing and all the rest of those shows do well, right?
I wonder if the creators of Bob’s Burgers would be ok with Fox labeling it as a Seth MacFarlane creation just to get people to tune in.
See, that’s the very reason I avoided it for so long — it was tainted by its association with McFarlane’s shows and latter-day Simpsons. Which is a shame, because the only thing Bob’s Burgers has in common with those shows is that it’s animated.
I guess Bob just isn’t enough of a racist for today’s hip youth.
I just watched it for the first time a few weeks ago. It’s hilarious and I love it. I don’t know why I thought I didn’t like it. So glad Season 1 was on Netflix.
All I have to say is BEEF CURTAINS!!!!
This show is too good for Fox. It should be on F/X. Archer and Bob’s Burgers back-toback would be one great hour of t.v.
I totally agree with your statement. It would be at home on FX.
That would rival any other hour block of comedy on TV!
Anyone else notice the name of the biker gang? One-eyed Snakes = dicks. This show is so great.
If FOX cancels I have a hard time believing that AS, FX or even Comedy Central wouldn’t take it considering Loren Bouchard’s connections.
I sure would hope AS would grab it up if it got cancelled, but then, they’ve never had particularly great ratings success with Bouchard’s shows; they may be “over it” by now.
Also we need a Lucy Daughter of the Devil reference or two this season. Maybe have the Special Fathers come through town.
My fiancee stuck with the show after I gave up on it during the first episode. She was right, to say the least.
I originally avoided Bob’s Burgers because of Louise’s bunny ears. I thought it was stupid and gimicky and the commercials did nothing to make me want to watch it. Then I accidentally watched ‘Hamburger Dinner Theater’ and now I realize I’ve wasted my life watching mediocre TV. There’s no better written comedy on TV right now.
I wish this show had a mouth so I could rape it without getting it pregnant.
I don’t actually know what I meant by that now that I read it back.
It was meant to be praise. Of some sort.
Just for myself, I could not get past two men talking like men as the voices for two of the females, and the other female being by a female voice. I did greatly enjoy the cooking show episode though.
Pretty sure that is why The Simpsons never caught on. Everyone thought it was weird for Bart to be voiced by a female.
Yeah, but it sounds like a little boy. The two men here just their normal voices it seems for the voices of female characters. Just personally, I did not care for it.
Tina was originally going to be a boy. The extras on the season one DVD have a clip of ‘pitch’ where Tina is a boy with the exact same voice. They thought the show had too many males in it but they liked the voice so they kept it. Thought it would be funny. It is.
I think Bob’s Burgers doesn’t catch on because the really funny things are in the background and don’t translate well into commercials. The show is almost always much funnier than the promos are.
That’s a problem for most good shows, I find. Comedies, especially.
Not just shows, but movies too.
It’s not like watching someone get kicked in the nuts requires that much thought.
I think Bob’s Burgers is great. It is actually pretty clean compared to McFarlane’s shows and Archer. They’re very subtle when they do dirty jokes. Maybe that’s why the viewership declined? It’s not as in-your-face or controversal as the jokes on Family Guy, etc. It’s a shame that people can’t enjoy good, clean-ish comedy anymore. Everything has to be dirty or racist. However, I love American Dad. I rewatch episodes whenever they air and on netflix when I’m being lazy. That show improved my relationship with my bf.
yep, we are in the “omg he said that?” generation of comedy. if it doesnt offend anyone, it isnt funny
Needs more Beefsquatch.
