We've already given you our plea to watch Bob's Burgers, so might as well talk about that other under-appreciated Sunday night animated show. American Dad! is just, simply put, funny. We admire Community, we love spending time with Parks and Recreation, we wonder how we "didn't think of that" with Archer, we wish we were Jane and/or Brad with Happy Endings — you don't over-contextualize anything when you're watching American Dad!; you just laugh your ass off, especially when Roger's involved.
He began as a Brian the Dog-like figure, but like the rest of the show, he evolved from an obnoxious "HE'S FUNNY BECAUSE HE'S RANDOM" character to one of the funniest things on TV. (The AV Club recently conducted a must-read interview with showrunners, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman — Seth isn't involved much at all.) American Dad! returns this Sunday at 9:30 p.m., and you should watch. Thank you.

Roger is funny, but holy fuck you could fill an entire wiki with a list of psychopathic shit he gets away with scot-free. For example, that episode with Stan trying to return Roger’s Olympic medal since he used roids. Since it’s a Lord of the Rings parody, the episode ends with Roger biting Stan’s finger off since that’s what happened at the end of the movie. Totally random way to end the episode. Funny, but random.
Also, I really don’t get what the point of Mindy Kaling is.
Mindy Kaling is the new chick people say is cute because in their fantasy world they think that they actually have a chance to bone her because she’s “Hollywood ugly”.

The guy has sex with jars of mayonaise and then eats it. Psychopath doesn’t begin to cover it. You need a whole new term for Roger.

I love American Dad so very much and the fact that this website “gets” it makes me love it even more. I feel like I’m still trying to get people onboard to watch it 8 years later. I loved the baby lasso one! My favorite episodes are usually the X-mas ones, especially the one where the rapture happens. Also when Roger is Roy Rogers Mcfreeley, the “Sideways” episode, and when Rogers alter ego gets a life of his own and is a bible salesman, and the vacation goo episode. And the Legs and the Wheelman episode from last season was awesome.

Roger is definitely my favorite character, because of said randomness and unpredictability. Last night’s episode was hella dark though. Roger I think hit his highest psychopathic point. I really don’t know how he could top that, but I’ve been wrong about him before. But seriously, that was a graphic season opener. Still hilarious.
