NFL Football: Cowboys at Giants (NBC, 8:30 p.m.) — I dislike both of you, Cowboys and Giants, but I LOVE having you back, football. KSK has the live blog, and from here on out, just humor me when I blab on about how my Panthers will have a good season. “Sure they will, Josh…sure they will.”
Democratic National Convention (Various network, various times) — Bill Clinton’s going to be there to give a speech, but because it’s not football, no one cares.
Royal Pains (USA, 9 p.m.) — Not football.
Damages (DirecTV Audience Network, 9 p.m.) — Not football.
U.S. Open Tennis: Quarterfinals (ESPN, 7 p.m.) — SO not football.
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Emma Watson, Matchbox Twenty, and Michelle Obama on Letterman; Adam Levine and Magic Johnson on Leno; Bob Newhart and Kevin Hart on Kimmel; Jeremy Irons and Monica Potter on Ferguson; Ellen Barkin and Demi Lovato on Fallon; Lauren Graham, Rob Delaney, and Best Coast on Conan; Kirsten Gillibrand on Stewart; and Michael Grunwald on Colbert.

Not that the DNC isn’t a dog and pony show, but who scheduled it to be on the same night as the NFL season opener? It’s like these politicians don’t even know Americans!
I think the other option was the week of 9/11 so they decided to interrupt a different sort of tragedy in New York — a herp-and-derp attack from Osama Bin Romo.
The NFL season was supposed to start with the usual Thursday night football, but they actually moved the game forward a day because of the convention.
That’s more US Open coverage than with leather… Go Ana Boo serena
At least it looks like the Panthers will have a better season?
Baby steps.
Can they really have a bad season with Cam doing his thing behind center? I think not.
