OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!! You guys, Pushing Daisies — the wonderful, short-lived, Bryan Fuller-created ABC show about a pie-maker who possesses the ability to bring people and animals back to life — may be in the midst of being brought back to life itself. IRONY!
First, Ellen Greene, who played the delightful Aunt Vivian on the show, hinted in a recent interview that a Broadway show adaptation appears to be in the works.
As the fine folks at Warner Brothers started to give us the wrap up signal, we quickly asked about the chance of Pushing Daisies continuing, in any form. “Actually, there’s been talk of a version of it,” said Greene, before pausing. “I’m not supposed to say anything! A possibility… A possibility of stage. I would love for Vivian to exist again. And I’m about to go participate in Bryan Fuller’s Hannibal! I forgot about that.”
Additionally, Bryan Fuller has hinted recently that Starz could be the home of some sort of Pushing Daisies reboot. All of this pleases me to no end. If you never saw the show — only 22 episodes ever aired — it was everything modern network television isn’t: imaginative, fanciful, unpredictable, whimiscal, and visually stunning, not mention fantastically acted and written. Also, I developed an unhealthy fascination with Anna Friel because of this show. This was my Community and she was my Alison Brie. FINGERS. CROSSED.

Okay, major fail for not giving us the exact time since cancellation.
On the other hand, so stoked right now. What’s Lee Pace been up to? Other than Elfing it up in New Zealand, that is.
And Anna Friel is in a much darker place last I saw, nice dark judging by Bathory. Be careful what you wish for.
Seen “The Fall”? Lee Pace is amazing in it.
The Fall kicks so much ass.
The Fall does kick much ass.
As for Lee, he’s also going to be in Lincoln
I have The Fall on DVD. It is a guaranteed cure for depression. At least until it goes all stop-motion.
In a just world, this film would be bigger, and travel agents would sell The Fall tours of India.
And we will hear Patty Boots start freaking out with glee in 5…4…3…
I’ll freak out with glee now! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
aaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA *hyperventilates*
PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN! I don’t know if my heart can handle it otherwise. I’ll guess I’ll continue pushing my DVDs on people in the meanwhile.
Rather have Wonderfalls come back. plz
WHERE IS PATTY BOOTS WITH AN EXCITED COMMENT AND/OR GIF
I was expecting all 10 comments on this story to be from her.
After this much time, should we call the cops?
THIS IS MILES MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANYTHING I’VE DONE TODAY.
DG – That was seriously the first thought that popped in my head when I saw the headline.
And then Terriers comes back and then ALL WILL BE RIGHT IN WORLD!
The Wondefalls comment above made me realize what a good chance this has to come to fruition. Wonderfalls immediately made me think of what the actors who played the main characters are doing now. And though I’m sure they’re still acting, none of them are doing something so extra-ordinary that they cant come back and recreate the roles from these shows. (Arrested Development’s GOB Bluth has a prime time NBC show and was still able to do the new AD because it’s on Netflix. They can film on different schedules.)
And as a second point, reference your own recent post about ‘reboots’ and unoriginal shows. It is very very likely that developers aren’t just looking to the 80′s and 90′s for reboot ideas. Something from 2, 5 or 10 years ago easily fits into this paradigm of recreating something familiar. Network jerks obviously now know that some shows find audiences after cancellation and recognize. Pick your own obvious example. So the possibility of getting the same actors for a reboot/recreation would be a windfall for the possibility of a new development.
If Uproxx had a “Like” button, I would click it…then dry hump it until we both passed out from euphoria.
Loved Anna Friel as well, not even her role in Land of the Lost ruined her for me… Another Brit with a great American accent.
I’m late because I had yoga tonight, but OMG Y’ALL!!!! OH MY GOOOOOOOOD.
HERE’S ANOTHER ONE.
I’d like to hear more about this yoga. **takes a hit of breath spray**
I always forget that Kristin Chenoweth is, like, a gnome.
I’m glad this news brought you the joy it brought me.
Of course! PD should’ve been a cable show all along, so this is especially great news.
This is all sorts of wonderful. The only thing that could top this would be news of a Veronica Mars reboot. *sigh*
Seriously, if this show actually comes back on air after it being 3 almost 4 years sense it was cancelled, I’m gunna cry tears of happiness.
It should NEVER have been cancelled in the first place. It was a show ABC never gave a chance and it still having fans today proves ABC made a huge mistake.
Holy shit yeah. Emerson Cod is my spirit guide.
I did like this show. But don’t make me buy STARZ. I’ve got enough cable to pay for.
This show was one of the first shows I cried over when I heard it was cancelled this and Better Off Ted. WHY DOES ABC DESTROY EVERYTHING I LOVE? But I got over it and now redemption in sight for Pushing Daisies. Best Tuesday morning ever.
I’ve been hugging my PC monitor at work after reading this, I’m just so happy!
woot
They had better not be fucking with us.
