I’m fully prepared to eat crow, though maybe dog food might be the more fitting option, about this controversial opinion, but: The Walking Dead‘s Carl Grimes doesn’t suck anymore. True, all we’ve seen of the new Carl is a single episode, but it’s one in which he, without acting whiny or looking like Kid Voldemort wearing a cowboy hat, destroys dozens of zombies, tries to sleep in the same bed (technically) as Beth, and rocks a new and improved hairstyle. He could very easily go back to sucking again in the next episode — as could The Walking Dead as a whole — but for now, let’s think positive and imagine he’ll continue to be the Lori-hating Carl of “Seed.”
This leads to a very important question: who is TV’s most annoying child now? Here are some options.
Manny Delgado (Modern Family)
Future E! News correspondent; “child wise beyond their years” trope is played out, and never funny in the first place; and gets to spend time with Sofia Vergara, which we don’t.
Shania Clemmons (The New Normal)
Manic Pixie Dream Girl to be; mistakes terrible outfits for quirkiness; and on a Ryan Murphy show.
Max Braverman (Parenthood)
Probably going to Hell for this one, considering Max has Asperger’s, but STILL. Parenthood got an effective season one out of Max’s problems, but the show’s now in season four and it hasn’t been able to say anything interesting about this kid and his dumb face since then.
Joffrey Baratheon (Game of Thrones)
I completely disagree and don’t find him annoying in the slightest — ditto all the kids from Mad Men and Homeland — but some do. OFF WITH THEIR HEADS.

Manny has always been the worst. Kim Bauer was saved by her boobs, Carl seems to level with the badass he is in the comics, Joffrey is a villain (come back Matt, you know if you want. Whatever I don’t care) and Max (or Vision of Seth Cohen from Season 2 of The Best Show Ever) has Asperger’s. Manny is irredeemable.

Point. When Modern Family started, it was with a cast of fairly competent and non-punchable child actors. Unfortunately, the ankle-biter they found to play Lilly is not even up to Luke’s level.

You’re supposed to hate Joffrey, you’re not supposed to hate the other kids on this list, they’re supposed to be quirky and fun. Joffrey is a great villian. Manny needs to go live with his real father for the rest of the series.
A great villian doesn’t have to turn to the camera in every scene and go “Btw you know I’m a real shit right? You remember that right? In case you don’t in the next scene I’ll be being a little shit again don’t worry.”
He is the worst character on Game of Thrones. It’s an excellent show but he’s fucking awful. It’s not that I hate him, it’s that the writers are basically telling me in every second “Please hate him more.” They’re building up a payoff that I won’t care about when it comes.
I’d actually put Joffrey down as one of the BEST (in third place, probably, with the daughters on Louie taking the top two spots).

I never thought it was Carl as the most annoying. Sure, he was a wiener kid the first two seasons, but he’s not dealing with “wacky neighbors” or some other goofy shit. He’s a scared kid in a zombie apocalypse. If he was badass from the get-go we’d all think of him as the Manny of The Walking Dead.
Carl was actually always a really good character in the comic, but on the show for some reason he was always an annoying liability that screws everything up and can’t stay in the house.
Now it seems like they are making him more like in the comic.
Rick letting Carl fight by his side is smart. He can keep tabs on him and Carl won’t whine about not being able to help.
Any of those children from The Neighbors. Among everything wrong with that show, the children are the absolute worst.

So, what, people with Asperger’s aren’t allowed to be annoying little shitheads? Manny grew up with a deadbeat dad and a mother who gave all his friends funny feelings, then got a crabby old man for a stepfather. He’s terrible, but you can see how the seeds of that terribleness were shown, and if you’re not going to allow that as an excuse, you shouldn’t allow Asperger’s.
That said, I’m not familiar with the show in question, so I can’t call it. My vote goes to Manny, with the understanding that Joffrey is A) in his late teens and B) a fantastic villain.

Jeoffrey became horribly written when they show’d him doing an evil thing…then the next scene another evil thing…and on and on. It’s just stupid, he’s a complete sore thumb in an otherwise excellent series so for me he’s the worst as the contrast between how horrible a character he is compared to Tyrion is greater than Manny to say Cams character. He’s just infinitely more stupid.
