While doing a story on the increasingly bizarre love pentagon involving David Petraeus, Paula Broadwell, and basically everyone else in the military or CIA, ABC’s Denver affiliate ran what appears to be a Photoshopped image of the cover of Broadwell’s Petraeus biography, All In. Unless, of course, the book’s publishers gave it the alternate title of All Up In My Snatch in foreign markets or something, which we probably can’t rule out at this point. Either way, this is basically the funniest possible thing that will ever happen. Hi, I am 12.
After the image hit the Internet, the station released this statement apologizing for the error.
“It was a mistake,” said KMGH-TV News Director Jeff Harris.
“It was a regrettable and an embarrassing error. We are mortified this appeared during our 5 p.m. news broadcast. The editor pulled the image of the book cover from the Internet without realizing it had been doctored. We sincerely regret the error and have corrected the story to avoid any recurrence of its broadcast. We are following up internally as well to avoid a repeat of this inexcusable oversight,” Harris said. [ABC7]

Hey, I also think TV news sucks! I bet we’re the only two people on the entire internet who feel that way.
The funding you’re worried about comes from the legislature, not the White House. If we’re going to politicize an outlier occurrence that clearly doesn’t need politicizing, then we might as well get it right: Republicans in the House pulled $300M from the State Department’s budget for embassy security in the country’s last budget. At the end of the day, if Obama was interested in making this a partisan issue (and we learned during the debates, during his fieriest moment, that he was not) he could have stuck this thing on the GOP very, very easily. Instead, the White House reported what they learned from intelligence, which is both the obvious and correct thing to do. There’s very little story here, other than that budget choices are tough, can result in people dying and the Middle East is a shit-show.
