Hours after shooting his father in the head, a 10-year-old Riverside boy told police he didn’t think he would be punished because of a Criminal Minds episode he had recently seen in which a child killed an abusive father and wasn’t arrested.
Riverside County prosecutors played a video of the interview in court Wednesday, Oct. 31, on the second day of the boy’s murder trial. The boy, now 12, is charged in the death of neo-Nazi leader Jeff Hall inside their Riverside home the morning of May 1, 2011. He is not being identified because he is a minor.
“A bad father did something to his kids and the kid did the exact thing I did — he shot him,” the boy said. “He told the truth and wasn’t arrested and the cops believed him. He wasn’t in trouble or anything. I thought maybe the exact same thing would happen to me.” (Via)

Hmm well with my extensive (non-existent) background in detective work, I think I can deduce that he is a 12 year old boy with the last name Hall who lives in Riverside. But luckily they aren’t going to identify him because he’s a minor.

Im surprised it was solved so quickly and with out the help of a former mentalist or crime fiction writers, or some kind of FBI profiler… People gave Law and Order crap, but its one of the few shows where the detectives were the ones who actually solved the cases.

Not really. I blame the parents. The boy’s upbringing couldn’t have been that great . As for your addition, the child, who is now 12, was 10 as the time of the killing.
