Mark Wahlberg Is Producing ‘The Real Housewives of Southie,’ Basically

Do you like reality shows set in Boston? TRICK QUESTION. It doesn’t matter how you feel about them, because Mark Wahlberg is going to make them anyway. After working with A&E on a show about the city’s Teamsters (titled, accurately if not creatively, Teamsters), the rapper-cum-actor and arts-and-entertainment-network-cum-Weirdo-Reality-Show-Junction are joining forces again to make a show about classy Beantown ladies. Inspired by the scene-stealing, big-haired, loud-talking, punch-throwing sisters of Wahlberg’s Micky Ward and Christian Bale’s Dicky Eklund in The Fighter, the untitled Mark Wahlberg Boston Women Project showcases the real women of Boston, featuring the day-to-day life of four of these tough, hard-as-nails women who juggle family, work, and relationships all while remaining true to their way of life. After reading that, I am completely sure of three things:

1) Every male featured on this show will be exactly like Drew’s Tommy From Quinzee character from KSK.
2) The phrases “That’s just how we do it in Boston,” “If you’re not from Boston, you wouldn’t know,” and “I’m not taking that from her. I’m from Boston, okay?” will be uttered no less than 100 times during the pilot episode alone.
3) Mark Wahlberg will not rest until every blue collar person in Boston has their own reality show.
